  • Group from Hell

Ugh, where do I begin with this group? They have four rooms for the week, which could extend to as much as three weeks. I want them to leave NOW!

This is one of Boss Man's "pet sales", and he's given them a discount so deep we're barely turning a profit on it. That, and Boss Man is a useless turd anyways. So he does NOTHING to help out the rest of us employees with these idiots.

We DO NOT have camper parking!

So to start off, their camper. Their Godawful pwecious camper with a trailer attached. Now, at our motel, there is no truck parking. None. Nada. Zip. We barely have enough regular spaces for the rooms as it is. Trucks have to park on the street.

Of course, that's not good enough for them. CW1 AND CW2 told them to park on the street. They decided to instead park across THREE handicapped parking stalls!

CW3 told them the following morning that that was absolutely not acceptable. They still refused to park on the street. CW3 told them that, if they unhitched their trailer in another spot, they may be able to back it into one of our corner spaces. They just had to make sure that they weren't hanging out into the red curb area, and that there was enough room that, if need be, a firetruck could get around.

Of course, all they heard was "park in the back corner". They didn't unhitch the trailer, and they're hanging WAAAAY out into the red. Other MOD told them to move, and after politely asking her "And who the f*** are you?", they then whined, "But CW3 said we could park there!"

When this was brought up to Boss Man, he said, and I quote, "I don't give a f*** about that fire lane." Yeah, like I said, he's a useless turd.

Because of the way our parking is arranged, if someone parks by the building, and they are parked where they are, it is very difficult to get around the corner there. Since Boss Man is useless, the next-best fix is to block the parking spot at the end of the building to make more space for that corner.

Two times, we moved parking pylons in that space to prevent people from parking there. Twice, someone moved them away. CW3 caught a member of the group in question parked in that space. They whined when they told her to move, but shut up when she pointed out they were blocking people from getting through back there. I can't confirm if they moved the pylons initially, but I strongly suspect it...

On Thursday, they were supposed to come down to speak with "someone in charge" because "everyone keeps telling us different things about parking our RV." No, everyone's told you to park it on the street. They've all said the same thing. You just don't like the answer you're getting! He never came down during my shift, though. Sad, 'cause I was MOD that day and was looking forward to telling them off. Better luck next time!

You can't cook your food there!

They like to have little cookouts RIGHT up against our building. We've told them they need to keep it away from the building. (1) It's a fire hazard, and (2) they aren't exactly quiet about it, and it disturbs the other guests.

CW2 told them to move. They told her that they were going to cook "wherever the f*** we feel like it".

So far, I have not personally had to deal with the abusive ones. I've only dealt with the wife of the group leader, and she's been pleasant enough. I'm waiting for them to pull some crap while I'm MOD, though. Boss Man's pet sale or no, I'm not putting up with that crap. We're barely making money off of it, since he's cut their rate down so low, and right now we are not hurting for business (we've been selling out almost nightly for the past month and a half...the whole town has!), so screw it. If I was in charge, they'd already be gone!

I will update as I have more tales to tell. I am sure there will be more. They're not even done with the first week yet!

...confused. So, they have a RV and a trailer... Having cookouts... And yet they're staying at a motel for weeks?

Are these people confused on what "camping" entails?

Just because they're Boss Man's clients doesn't mean that those clients are excused from the law. Your boss man has to realize that even though they're barely making a profit, the fines and fees the hotel racks up will cause the hotel to lose money in the end on this sale. Next time I wouldn't even warn the customer. Just start calling the cops and the fire department.

as far as the "cookouts" were concerned, as pointed out, they are a FIRE hazard. SO I would have called the fire dept on them

They want to "leave it all behind" ... but they want it waiting for them when they get to their destination.

Seriously, this is appalling. Obviously your useless BossMan does not realize that if there's a fire, and there are injuries or deaths (God forbid), and he's given these bozos permission to block the fire lane, he is looking at a lawsuit so big his descendants unto the sixth generation will still be paying.

I seriously HATE it when bosses use workplaces as their own personal little fiefdoms.

I don't see the point in the RV, trailer, cooking out.........and staying at a hotel, for a week to several weeks. This obviously isn't a one or two night break from a road trip. This is just fucking pointless.

Next time they park over the fire lane & start having a cookout beside the building... Call the FD & sit back.

So they drove a portable hotel room, to stay in a hotel?

My guess is they rented the RV, are first time RV users, and realized "RVing isn't as comfortable as we were sold on . . . four people in such a small space is driving us nuts. Lets get a hotel."

Well, apparently Other MOD called Cute Detective and gave him a heads up.

Today, the RV was gone. Dunno where it went. It wasn't on the street, or the vacant lot next door. Another car was parked in that spot, though, so hope they weren't planning on bringing it back. (The group is still there. The RV and trailer are gone, though.) Maybe it finally got ticketed so they moved it somewhere else? I don't know, and as long as it's not on the motel's lot, I don't care.

I don't know why they have the RV. They have four double rooms, so that's at least eight people and one RV. Which means it's either the worst-planned RV trip ever, or they're using it for something else. The trailer had a bunch of quads on it, and they have two pick-ups with quads in the back, so the RV could just be a mobile toilet for whatever trails they go out on.

Last night, I got some noise complaints and had to tell them to quiet down. They just talked over me, so I couldn't give them the full warning. They said they were leaving. While I was walking by, I accidentally tripped over one of their beer cans they had strewn about.

SC: "Now listen, we can't have you kicking beer cans this time of night."
                      Me: "..."
                      SC: "..."
                      Me: "..."
SC: *grabs my arm* "I'm just kidding with ya!"
Me: *thinking do not touch the katt!!!*

This morning, we had to refund one room because of the noise, and another I don't think we refunded but she was still very upset. I also heard from another guest that he was leaving because this group's guitar-playing had been keeping him up the last two nights.

Can we please kick them out yet?

So, with the refunded room, does that mean you've lost money on the rate, now?

I mean, aside from the money you're losing by not renting out those rooms to people who aren't getting super-whoopie stupid discounts, that is.

And I second everybody who says to just call the cops/fire dept on their asses for whatever they pull.

I'm confused at the very notion of somebody having a cookout in the parking lot of the hotel. It would never even occur to me to try doing that. How is that legal??

Seconded on what everyone else is saying:

                            - I was gonna say call the cops anonymously about the handicapped parking and fire lane, but it appears to have been taken care of. They may never go back for the trailer if it's been towed, who knows? o_O

                            - Def call the FD anytime they cookout too close. Anon again

                            - Consider calling the cops if they refuse to keep the noise down and make sure the guests know that the hotel called them ^_^

                            - Walk up to your boss with the refund receipts and explain to him just how much these people have cost him...so far...Just because he hasn't received any citations about allowing this stuff yet doesn't mean they're not coming. Make sure to document any time he says he doesn't care about where they are or what they're doing, too.

Does your boss have any sort of testicular fortitude?

At which point does a "guest" turn into a pest? Oh, about the first freaking incident that you had with them and their stupid RV and cookouts!

Who the hell wants to lose money just to keep some idiots who should be using their RV for its intended use elsewhere happy?
