  • How dare you be OPEN at that time!

Recently I had a SC ask what our hours were. I informed SC of our hours which are 7 am to 10 or 11 pm.

    SC: That late?
    M: Yes.
    SC: are you sure?
    M: Yes.
SC: How dare you be OPEN at that time!
    M: What do you mean?
SC: It's dark by 9 in the summer and even earlier in the winter. *hence the inventions called lights and electrcicity*
    M: ....
SC: And they make you AND customers be here in the dark?
M: Well.....uh, some people prefer to shop later in the day or after they get out of work at 5.
SC: Well I shop when it is light because you cant see in the DARK! Tell you manager to close at DUSK when it is safe for people to see and not crash into things when they try to leave.
    M: Ok, I will.

Coincidentally I left at 9:30 that night, walked out int the lighted parking lot and to my car. I started the car and turned a switch make some lights on the car illuminate so I could see driving home.

WTF?? Nobody's putting a gun to her head to go out after dark! Besides not being acquainted with electricity and lights, she is apparently also not acquainted with people who work through the daylight hours ...

Bwahahahaha! Yes, it's a HUGE conspiracy to make us leave our dwellings when it's dark, isn't it?

Wow. I wonder if my husband made that call. He'd have to find some other way of powering his computer and other favorite electronic devices, of course, but if he had his way there'd be no artificial light whatsoever, unless perhaps it was free.

I, myself, much rather do things during the daytime but a lot of other people do like going out that late or CAN'T get out until well after dark, 'cause of work and stuffs.
Eh, one day I'll have something useful here. Until then, have a cookie or two.

I'd be a lot more worried about The Mist outside grocery stores than darkness. But I think that only happens in Maine.

                That's hilarious.

If she comes back, mention the depravity of the all-night 24/7 Safeway.

Oh no, it happens here in Nova Scotia too. Driving in pea-soup fog after dark is scary shit, man, especially if you happen to meet one of those arsewipes with the super-white headlights on their cars. THOSE things are dangerous on a clear night, on a foggy night it's like 'the aliens are finally invading!'. Never mind coming out of the grocery store and being unable to see your car even though it's only 15 meters away. People vanish into that fog and you never see them again.

                  ...

Ok, I am running really short of sleep this week and it's starting to show.

It's not the mist that's dangerous, its what's lurking in there
                    Arp happens!

And here I thought they had passed laws to keep heavy metal contamination out of the water supply.... so people like her wouldn't happen.

She's been living under a rock. Even the post office closes after dusk during the winter solstice.

though I do love it when it is foggy because we live on the water and can here the ferry horns

So are you going to people's homes late at night and forcing them to go out in the dark, or what?
