    Some of my pet peeves:

where i work associates in the departments can invoice products and then customers come up to the registers to cash out and we pull their invoices up with their phone number. My pet peeve though is people will come up to me and just start spouting off numbers, now im also customer service so we use phone numbers for various things, I just stand there and once their done I'm like can I help you. Yeah I have an invoice. Oh would you like to tell me that before spewing random numbers at me.

It's the same situation when I'm returns, customer comes up and plops product on the counter and stares at me, "um..is anything wrong with it" its like they expect me to just return it and not ask any questions, and of course they don't have the receipt, they don't know when they got it, and they don't know how they paid for it--greaat :sigh:

Another peeve of mine that doesn't happen all the time but when it does really irritates me: Sometimes when someone swipes their credit card are machines are slow and it takes a minute for it to pop up and say whether they need to swipe again or it went through, now the screen does continue to say swipe card, but I will literally be saying multiple times, please don't swipe that again, we just need to wait a sec, please sir/maam don't, please, and they just keep swiping and swiping like they don't hear me.

And another that I'm sure a lot of you deal with especially the ones that don't have the conveyor belts for a counter, why oh why do people just come up and start piling up a cart load of crap on the counter, today a couple came up and the guy starts putting items on the counter, no big deal I can tell what I need to bag with what, etc, well he puts more stuff on top of the items that were already up there and I literally have to grab a few items off the top to get to other ones so that i can bag properly and i know he could tell that he was making it difficult but he wouldn't stop. Like seriously, I am a fast cashier, there's no need to unload your whole cart on top of a very small counter space.

And last one: why do people cash out and then just leave their cart right there, that's like the rudest thing ever at least move it off to the side so other customers can come through without being blocked. What I've tried to do to remedey this is when I bag their items I put the bags in the cart, so that maybe they'll at least be compelled to leave their cart at the front door instead of in the way.

I totally get you on the towers of merchandise they pile up. It's like they're making a sculpture. It helps if I tell them I need big items first; they don't get it 'cause they don't cashier. And I really hate when they leave carts. I had to retrieve one from the vestibule yesterday, The cart area is 3 feet from it.
"Is it hot in here to you? It's very warm, isn't it?"--Nero, probably

Oh I hate that cart thing. I honestly didn't know that people did this, but I was at some store once as a customer and the customer in front of me did this and it was completely blocking me from getting in the aisle and putting my stuff on the belt. I was waiting patiently behind it because I figured he was coming back for it. He then pays and starts to walk away and my shock stopped my brain to mouth filter and I blurted out "Is that guy seriously leaving his cart here for me to move for him like I am his servant? What the fuck? What a fucking asshole." He turned and looked at me, but didn't say anything or move his cart. He just kept walking. I normally am not so brazen or outright with my complaints of people, because even though I was just a customer, you never know who might have a gun and even though I carry a gun, just not worth it. Ever. So it really surprised me that my mouth allowed such words to come out when he was in earshot.

FFF the cart thing. I end up with a cart graveyard at my register if I don't move the one cart out of the way right away. People seem to think that if one person did it, then they can too and I end up with 5 carts crowding the end of my aisle.

Our credit machines don't take that long to tell people their card needs to be slid again, but if they press cancel it takes about 10 seconds for it to go back to the main screen. During this time, sliding their card will do NOTHING. And do they listen to me when I tell them to wait for the screen to clear?

        Nope. SIGH.
