Okay, so as I've mentioned elsewhere, there's a bit of construction going on near the end of our driveway. As such, the road is blocked. To get to us, you have to detour through the parking lot of the restaurant next door. The route is incredibly well marked, trust me. Here is a crudely sketched map to illustrate:

Clueless Guest (CG) called tonight:
*phone rings*
Me: *spiel*
CG: "Yeah, how do I get to your driveway?"
Me: "Just follow the detour signs through Restaurant's parking lot and go around their building."
CG: "Really? I don't see any signs."
Me: "Just pull into their driveway and drive right around the building, and you can get around the construction."
CG: "There's no way around!"
Me: "Go through Restaurant's driveway, and go around their building. I'm not sure how I can be more specific than that."
CG: "Okay, I'll look around."
about 20 minutes later...enough time for me to draw the map and actually start typing the above...
*phone rings*
Me: *spiel*
CG: "I still can't find you. There's just no way to get to your driveway! It's blocked."
Me: "That's odd. It shouldn't be. I just checked in two guests who pulled in here."
CG: "Really? 'Cause I've driven all around and I can't find it."
Me: "You should just be able to drive right around Restaurant and we're right there."
CG: "I did that. The dark one?"
Me: "Yes, I suppose so, they closed an hour ago. Just follow their parking lot around the building."
CG: "I'm going to walk, because I drove over there and there was a rope across it blocking the way. Maybe you're right, but I don't think you are."
Okay folks. Looking at the map, I don't know how I can explain pull into Restaurant's driveway and go around the building any more clearly. (And despite CG's claims, there are plenty of detour signs.)
(ETA: where the detour ends and our driveway begins are actually a lot closer than shown on the map. I just really suck at drawing and am too lazy to redraw it.)
ETA2: Dammit he found us! I posted about ten minutes ago so total that up and...30 minutes to figure out how to drive around a building? Really?
At least he didn't really whine that much when he checked in. He get some credit for that. I was bracing for a big long whine-fest, and didn't get it. So, yay for that!
