  • Way past blue screen of death

    This customer so totally confused me, that the blue screen of death would have been a BLESSING for my mind.

    CX (not bill to..so that means I can do squat anyhow, but I digress) calls..

    Cast -
    CX - Confusing conundrum of a SC
    Me - Wanting a nice white rubber wall to bang my head against.

    CX - Yes I need to check why an order was cancelled ((Pay attention here, this is important later))
    Me - Sure..can I get <info>?
    CX - <Right order number, wrong everything else>
    Me - I am sorry, I need to speak to the bill to before I can make changes..<looks> All I can tell you is that the order has been cancelled ((notice a pattern here?))
    CX - It's either in my brother or fathers name, I want to know if the money will go back to my account.
    ME - ((Aha that I can tell them without giving anything away)) Yes it will, it will go back onto whatever method of payment you used.
    CX - I need to know why it was cancelled ((Wait..didn't you call to cancel anyhow?))
    ME - I can not give you that information...I am sorry.
    CX - Just tell me who's name the account is in.
    ME - I can not give you that information..I am sorry.
    CX - It is in either my brothers or fathers name, all I need to know is which.
    ME - Ma'm I wish I could help, but I can not give you that information.
    CX - Fine .. just cancel the order then!
    ME - ((Didn't you call to cancel, isn't it already cancelled?...why yes, yes it is. Which means you are in luck madam..because I couldn't have cancelled it until speaking to either your brother or father..but I can't say that)). The order is cancelled Mam.
    CX - FINE! *slam phone down*

    Of course the call was MUCH longer then that..we went round in circles several times because I couldn't give her the information she sought...what I wouldn't have done for a mallet to have hit me over my head to put me out of my misery.

    Wait, she wants to know why X order is cancelled, but she doesn't know who placed it in the first place???? Either brother or father must have placed the order, right? And then one of them had to cancel it as well, right?

    Am I dense? Or just blinded by the stupid?

      Well you didn't hear it from me, and we are NEVER to say this word to the customer..ever..but there was a fraud hold (which was why the order was cancelled..I just couldn't tell her that). Yes, the stupid was strong with this one..calls to cancel, is upset that it is already cancelled, doesn't know if her brother or father was the one who placed the order...yeah something was kinda..ok very fishy here...

        Based upon the apparant IQ level, she probably wants to know if it was her father or brother who cancelled the order so she knows which one she should stop sleeping with this week.

            I work in call centre to and usually in these cases they are trying to pull fast on you. Like you we dont them anything and tell them account holder as to call in.

                She was just trying to make sure that she did not get into too much trouble for using the credit card.

                By the way, when I saw the title, I thought you were having computer problems again.

                  If that happened to me, I would assume the caller was a scammer and there wasn't any father or brother involved, she just forgot which stolen credit card she used, and wanted to know why her order was cancelled....since, being a scammer, she didn't actually want it cancelled.

                    Mooncat I believe you hit it right on the nose, but of course we can't say that to customers..can't even hint at the word Fraud. If the fate of the human race was reliant upon me saying that word to a customer..well humans have had a good run...

                    We can give some small info to people that are not the bill to, like order status. Beyond that..they get nada, zip, zero..sorry about your luck. You can't even verify what the billing address is, or know the name on the account? Yeah..not gonna happen. Next please

                    I just have to laugh when a customer wants something, gets their way (or at least so they claim), and then gets upset about getting what they asked for

                      Ah... sounds like someone in her family stole her card information to place orders online.
                      OR she herself placed the order with their info and they canceled it on her.
