First customer yesterday brings up a sewing machine and various other items. She wanted me to ring up the sewing machine first, then the other items seperately.
I ring up the sewing machine. It was on sale for a very good price. She hands me a 40% off coupon. I had to explain to her, and show her on the coupon, that the coupon does not apply to sewing machines or items already on sale. It takes a few tries, but she figures it out. I total it up, she hands me two gift cards. I run them both, one's for $20 and the other for $25, tell her the new total.
Then she tells me to ring up the rest of the stuff.
Okay, first, you said you wanted them seperate. Now you don't? Second, you've already started payment. I cannot add more items after you've started payment!
That also took a few tries to explain. Finally she pays for the rest of the sewing machine, then we start the second transaction and it goes without a hitch.
She wasn't rude or mean, but she's definitely not the sharpest needle in the sewing kit.
