  • Way to overreact, lady

A while ago my store was doing 20% off certain types of bras within a specific brand. We had three different types of bra hanging on one counter that held a sign advertising the offer; two of the types of bra were included in the offer, but the third was not. If you glanced at the signs then, yes, it could be misleading and you might assume the third type was 20% off, however if you actually read the signs then it was clear that it was full price.

Shouty lady (SL) brought a bra up to the till and when my coworker rung it through it showed up as full price.
SL: I THOUGHT THAT WAS 20% OFF? (She was loud and clearly annoyed at this point, but not shouting yet)
CW1: Oh, let me check. (Asks another coworker).
CW2: Sorry, no, the offer is on X bra in Y brand. This is Z bra in Y brand so it's not included.
SL: THAT SIGN IS MISLEADING! YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE IT THERE! (She was full-on shouting now)
CW2: Well the signs do state that only X bras are included. The one you've got isn't X.
SL: IT'S MISLEADING! YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE IT UP THERE!
CW2: Alright! I'll take the sign down! (Starts moving the sign)
SL: RANTRANTRANTYELLYELLYELL! GOD, WHY DO PLACES DO THIS?! YOU DO THIS ON PURPOSE! BLARGARRAWLBLE!
    * Please note that throughout this entire diatribe she had, what I assumed to be, her young child with her. What a charming example she was setting.

Despite the shouting she bought the damn bra anyway and left, which I was relieved about because it meant I could finally let my jaw drop to the floor. CW1, CW2 and I just stared at each other in disbelief. All that over a £2.80 discount *rolls eyes*.
