Where do I even start today.......
Due to a sick call, I'm back at [Hospital] again after having just finished a 3-week stretch there. Once again, I'm covering for the site manager and assistant site manager. In a way that's cool because I (sort of) get to boss everyone else around a bit, except I have no actual authority nor the pay
Anyway, we just got not one but two phone calls practically back to back that were just plain fucked up.
Call #1 came from an off-site location demanding to know why no one came to look at their copy machine.
Actually, as I explained to the woman who called, someine DID go but the office that the copier was in had been locked.
I further explained that the specific issue they were having with the equipment would almost certainly have required that we place a service call for a tech to come out and repair it, so we skipped to that step upon discovering the locked door.
She really wouldn't let the whole "locked door" thing go. She went ON AND ON about how he "should've known" that he could ask someone or that he should've called security and have them unlock it.
here's a better idea.....when you KNOW that someone is coming up to look at a machine, DON'T LOCK THE FUCKING DOOR!
Seriously, he had at least 2 other calls he had to get to at that location, plus at least 2 more at other off-site offices, all before lunch. It's not like we're sitting around all day waiting for YOUR machine to break. He had a lot of other people to take care of and didn't have time to screw around because you guys locked up the machine.
even better was her reasoning. She said they usually keep the door unlocked so peopel can use the copier, but since it was broken they locked the door.
And you work in a hospital?
But the real winner was the one who called down afterwards. I didn't take this call, and I give thanks for that....
Woman calls and starts yelling and screaming at a colleague whom Miss Stress has nicknamed "The Bollocksing Wanker" (because he's a fucking idiot on a good day....). She wan't to speak with other colleague M.
M was not here. He was out busting his ass taking care of about 5 open service calls of one sort or another.
Well, she would not tell us what she needed, she would only speak with M. So The Bollocksing Wanker told her - again - that M wasn't here and offered - again - to take a message.
Well that wasn't good enough...she actually said she wanted us to "go find him!" as in "go look for him and tell him to call me, now!"
Lady, just what the fuck are you smoking and can I have some? Cuz it's been a long day and I could use a littel mind-altering right now.
Just the main hospital building alone is enormous. 4 wings, 7 floors, and only about a million possible rooms he could be in.
This does not take into account that he could also be at [smaller sister hospital to the north] which is 5 floors, or any of NINE other buildings we have equipment at.
Do YOU have time to mount such an absurd search??
I ended up calling M on his cell to give him a heads up, and when he got to that woman, she claimed it was "no rush" and "didn't say any of those things" and M said to smack The Bollocksing Wanker upside the head.
Well, I can't say with certainty that she did or didn't say thsoe things since I didn't take the call, but based on the side of the conversation I did hear, I don't doubt she did.
