  • Customer Service line

Okay, I recently left the Toy Store and started working at a Video Game Store.

The new job is in a different city... I went from one filled with thugs and gangbangers to one filled with upper-middle class snobs.

My selling method has been to help people to not waste their money on crappy games and to help them find the decent/good ones.

Apparently, you can't do that in this other town.

A lady called me up wanting to know about a game... the price and such. Then she asked me if it was any good. I flat out said it wasn't a very good game, not anything like the other ones that her son liked, and so on.

She came in anyway to purchase the game, and everything seemed fine while she was in the store.

Yesterday, I got written up by the DM while he was visiting our store. He was pretty cool about it though, and I explained what had happened, he said that's what the store manager told him, and he told me not to sweat it and blah blah blah.

Anyway, I got written up because....

The lady called the Customer Service line and told them that I MADE HER SON OVER THE TELEPHONE.

I didn't even ever hear her son in the background, let alone talk to him!

Not to mention when they came in, he had to have been at least 10 years old. So, he was a spoiled kid who would probably cry to get his way if Mommy told him he couldn't have that chocolate bar.

    Ggggrrrrr.

You're mean! I just reading your post! waahwaahsnifflewah

Seriouslly, that is absolutely ridiculous that they wrote you up for that. Just because a customer makes a complaint doesn't mean it has any merit; besides, the woman asked for your opinion and you gave it, and obviously it didn't affect her purchasing decision, so WTF?
