(at the call center for Borgsphere cell phones)
Had a guy who's service had been suspended for non-payment. Not unusual in and of itself, in fact that was at least half of our calls on any given day. What set this young man apart is that he the company would no longer accept payments that werent cash or money order.
Yeah, I was curious about that one too the second I saw the note from accounts receivable.
'This account banned from accepting credit, debit, or check payments. All payments must be made in retail location with cash or customer can mail in a money order'.
Bwah?
So I looked at the account history, this account had all in all about 22 denied or returned payments. Some were bad checks, others were cancelled checks and there were several bank reversed credit/debits at customer request.
When I told him about the options open to him he told me that he couldn't leave post. (He was in the Army). I then happily informed him that he could also send a money order. He tried to tell me he couldn't get any on post.
I was kind enough to inform that the PX would have them at the service counter.
"But I cant go there either!"
Ah.. this made it all clear to me. Not only was he restricted to post, he was restricted to quarters. Only thing I could advise at this point was to recommend him to ask his team leader to do it for him.
That last statement allowed him to figure out that not only was I myself in the Army, but that by this point I also knew he was a fuck up. (You have to do something pretty stupid to get restricted to quarters.) He sounded ashamed of himself after he put two and two together.
Easy to have a lot of bounced checks when the Army is taking all your pay cause you're being stupid and keep getting Article 13s.
