This is wonderfully therapeutic, a small rant, and all the stress melts away.
Anyway, I'd like to preface this rant with the phrase, I have nothing against any group of people, gay, black, muslim..... whatever, I don't care, more power to you. What I *hate* more than anything is people who expect special treatment because of what group they are in, and make you feel like a bigot or intolerant because you aren't giving them their way. I just wanted to say that for future postings, it will become relevant I'm sure.
Anway, up here in the lush wilderness of Canada(
), we have natives, and they have their status cards (and some of these people with status cards are whiter than wonderbread) WHich allows them to not pay the provincial sales tax (8% in Ontario)
<rant>
Well, to the point, there was a woman, who came into staples, bought a pen (yes, singular) and made a point of insisting her status card be used.
Paperwork of recording her name, address and phone number, status card number, filing the tax exempt.
Pen = 65 cents
Saved amount - 5 cents
So.......yeah, I guess the nickel is really just that important.
