First time poster, but I have A TON of stories to tell and I'm so glad I found you guys!! Go team!
I have had quite a few retail jobs in the past and have always needed some place to vent about my days. I generally call my mom, which she gets a kick out of my rants, but I want to tell other people too. I mainly want to tell the customers themselves, but can't.
I would tell my coworkers, but they too can sometimes be a bit...Well, you know.
I work in a fuel kiosk at a large chain store out in basically "Hicksville"...That is not the end of the story. Ha ha.
First off, I must say that I do not get breaks or lunches because I am generally the only person in the kiosk and no one else, but the 5 people who work AT the kiosk knows how to do anything out there. So bathroom breaks? Out of the question! Unless you really have no customers.
So back to the story...I was changing out the garbage bags, like a good little worker does, and needed to use the restroom. Well, I had people out at their cars, but they had already paid and didn't need anything from me, so I run in there while I had time and was in the restroom. As soon as I had come out, I had a line of MAYBE 4 people. Where was my doorbell!?!?! I wasn't even in there for long! Sometimes it goes off, sometimes it doesn't...I don't know...It's spooky like that. So I proceed to ring up my customers, well I notice a lady who is basically doing the potty dance, so I try to be nice to her, but she just shuts me off and rushes out the door...OOooookkk?
She was my last customer, so I continue out to my garbage cans and I was on the can her car was next to. She looked at me and said that I should have hurried up because THIS would have happen and she didn't want to leave her car for too long. I looked in her car and she had two little girls about 2 and 4 who had locked the car doors.
First off, don't leave your kids in the car, lady.
Second, not my fault that mother nature hit me the moment you decided to walk in the door.
Third, don't leave your kids in the car.
I apologized to her and said a quick quip about not having anyone to cover my restroom breaks so she could hear my side of the story, but no...THERE ARE NO CASHIER SIDES TO CUSTOMER STORIES.
Gah! So frustrating out there!
