Me: "That means you have some kind of option window for the email open. Try closing it and it should send."

SP: "Hu, let's try closing this, and this.. oh, and this. Well, whattya know, it sent!"

Believe it or not, the idiot called back today with the same problem.

I told AAFH2 what I told him last time, and she passed it on, and then he was able to fix it.

Ah the joys of working for a university. The only reason why I'm more annoyed at students then at professors is that professors have lackeys (read:graduate students) to do their errands for them.

In my first year of university, our lecturer made a quip something along the lines of "The TMs can go to the TRC for help".

Translations:

TMs = Technological morons

TRC = Technology Resource Centre (i.e. the tech support department)

Lecturer = You call them professors in the US, but here, only senior academics can use the title "Professor".

Only our athletics department, and now our Equestrian department have GAs.

Of course, most of the GAs are worse than some of our professors.
