  • Customers who shouldn't deal with technology. Ever.

Customer claimed that a spark came out of modem and hit her feet! Also claims that during storm, lightning hit the modem and then hit the hard drive in her PC. Customer wants our company to replace her PC.

    **********************************************

Customer rolled his chair over the modem and ruined it.

    **********************************************

Customer is very upset with not getting a new digital converter. Therefore, he’s going to go leave the box out in the street to get run over.

Here's another one for you that I got today actually...

Customer complains that Internet is running very slow. Despite the fact that it took FOREVER for his computer to restart, FOREVER AND A DAY for his icons to load up, and FOREVERMORE for him to even be able to click on anything, clearly it's our equipment that's the problem.

I finally convinced him by this...

Me: "Okay, is it still loading?"
SC: "Well, I...I mean, not now, but..."
Me: "Well, try to get online."
SC: "Okay..." *one whole minute later* "It's still trying to load the page! This is ridiculous! My Internet blah blah blah..."
    Me: "Hmm..."
    SC: "What?"
Me: "Go ahead and close that. Now open up My Computer."
    SC: "...Okay."
Me: *one whole minute later* "Has it loaded yet?"
    SC: "...No."
Me: "Sir, I think there may be something wrong with your computer."
SC: "Yeah...I think you may be right."

Really? I may be right? YA I THINK SO ACTUALLY.

It's just that they don't want to believe that they're wrong, I suppose...

I like this "forevermore" term. I think I'll pull it out to piss hubby off next time he needs to fix my computer.

"So what exactly happens when you boot up? How long does it take?"

        "Oh, it takes forevermore."

        He'll kill me.

If you have to ask, it's probably better posted at www.fratching.com

One morning we had a guy who kept calling to get his modem replaced because his computer wouldn't boot up at all. Of course we refused, told him there would be a charge, tried to tell him it is not the problem, etc. Each time he would end up cussing and the rep would disco the call. He finally got me, who did nothing different, but I didn't hear any swearing. I told him I would schedule a tech, tried to explain its not the modem, and there would be a charge. But he didn't like that instead of getting a tech out today, he'd have to wait till Monday. Call ended when he said he would speak with the local manager. Of course there has been no change or additional notes on his account. Lesson learned?
