  • Guitar Hero is a dangerous thing...

    A dangerous passtime indeed.

Aparently, my store was 'donated' a GH guitar w/programming for us to put on display. Ever since then, we've been watching GH videos on youtube, and my boss has been working on unlocking songs. She's at least, good at playing though.

And at least today they have it at a reasonable volume.

I however, forsee our work efficiency going down.

Oh, your efficiency is definitely going to decline.

You can unlock all the songs on career mode. I'm not entirely sure about quickplay. I think you need to unlock them in career first (or buy them through career). Super fun game though. I'm a big fan.

You'll find that as you play it more, when you hear one of the songs on the radio you can airguitar hero along.

Don't let customers play it. They'll never leave, and they'll only play "I Love Rock & Roll" or "Iron Man."

        ...sigh.

My boss picked up Rock Band for the ps2 and set it up on our stage.

So far, only him and his friends play on it, but we're looking into setting up a night of it like how other places have karaoke nights.

May heaven have mercy on our souls.

            Or worse you'll:

            1) Hear a song that's not on Guitar Hero, and you'll wonder, "Hmmm...I wonder how hard this one would be..."

            2) You'll hear a song that is on Guitar Hero, and that damned fret board will pop into your head. You'll have a mental round of Guitar Hero until the song ends.

Yeah, I have Guitar Hero. Why do you ask?

Or if you're like me and play guitar you'll find that you'll be more confused by the set-up of the guitar.

You may also find yourself shouting things like, "Damn you Psychobilly Freakout!" or, "Dick Dale is mah bitch!" Don't worry, it is a perfectly normal reaction.

Yeah, I love it when I find GH on display somewhere, regardless of which one it is. I always try something difficult...not because I'm necessarily that good, but because I find it's fun to attract people to the game, finish my round or whatever, then hop off. And yes, I often do the same thing with DDR.

Guitar Hero was like a disease at my last job.

I worked as a tester for a major video game company.

We got a 10 min break anytime between 11:30 and 12:30, and another between 4:30 and 5:30 (hour lunch from 2 - 3).

Well, during breaks, people would start playing Guitar Hero... and half the department would race over to one of the consoles someone was using and either watch or play. We had people bringing their guitars in with them in order to challenge others.

With Guitar Hero 2, there was only ONE guy in the entire department (about 350 people) that could actually get 100% completion on "Jordon" by Buckethead, on Expert difficulty.
