    It's not that hard, folks!

And to add insult to injury, the coach called, while her assistant coach was at the computer. After trying to puzzle out statements like "a window popped up and we couldn't download it" I remoted into the computer in question.... where... wait for it..

    THE PROGRAM WAS INSTALLING!!!

    I hate people.

There should be IQ tests for people to own a computer. I know that computers don't like me, but any reasonable 6 year old can download a program.

Especially Adobe Reader!!! The biggest stumbling block they had?

They couldn't find the link to download reader from adobe.com.

I only wish it was in this case.

            ahahahahahahaha.

yah, kinda hard to miss the "get adobe reader" button...

what's your opinion on the fact that most installers come w/ extra stuff, like google or yahoo toolbar, and other small applets.

When given the option, I always opt out. I'm a techie. If it's cool, and free, I already have it, or have something that works better than it.

For the non-techies, those downloads are just asking for trouble. "Pop up blocker? I don't have a pop up blocker!?!?!"

And, then, of course, there's the staff member who had, quite literally, half her IE window taken up with toolbars.

In short, I really don't like them, but if they have to have them, then I rather have them with the option of downloading them, rather than ads, or something worse.

                Oh, don't bet on that!

I've seen more than one case where the Acrobat Reader would just fail for no discernable reason, even though it worked perfectly on another machine with an identical build.

Hell, I've seen an Acrobat file give two different results when being printed from two identical computers that sat next to each other. This was at a Kinko's when Nekojin & I had a sign printed. The first try printed out without one of the patterns being used. The second try was just fine.

... I'm going to stop here, because anything more I have to say about Acrobat belongs on Fratching.

                ^-.-^
