I am trying to get out of a PDL for updates that no longer pertain to me. I've been trying for months but the person who used to manage the list no longer works for the company and it seems that no one has access to add or remove people from the list (how nice).
I'm told by a couple of people that I should log a ticket (the IT person logging a ticket?) so I'm in our ticketing system making a ticket - I selected Outlook as the application since, well, it's the closest. Then, I get connected to chat with Tier I (Outlook / Enterprise support).
After introductions:
Me: I'm trying to get out of the network updates PDL. No one seems to know who manages it anymore and it was recommended that I log a ticket on it.
Tier I: (long pause) What's a PDL?
If you're supporting OUTLOOK than you should know what a PDL (Public Distribution List) is!
