  • You Get What You (Didn't) Pay For

This one was a real gem of an SC. This lady calls in and from what she described to me, her computer was on the BIOS screen prompting her to go through the setup of her BIOS and reinstall Windows on her computer. I asked her the manufacturer of her computer and from what she said it sounded like one of those hodge podge computers or the ones that were custom built. I told SC that she would have to contact the person/company that built her computer (because her issue was outside of support boundaries), she starts going off on how she won't bother her friend for that. Turns out that her friend gave her this computer (which was used) for free. She demanded that I help her with it since she is a paying customer for ISP that won't be named !!!11!!. I said to her that I still won't be able to nor anybody else in my department since we're DSL support and only handle basic email and internet connection issues and that she still needed to contact whoever built her computer for her. So I asked her if she had the disk to reinstall her operating system (Windows XP), she said she wasn't sure, so I told her to contact Microsoft to get the disk. She yells about how she doesn't want to wait to get a disk from Microsoft and goes on a rant on how she refuses to pay a dime for our premium service department *PC Helpers (turned out that her issue was too far gone for them to support since they only work on issues customers have that allow them to remote access their computer) to have them help her out with her issue and then hung up on me. Seriously, what the hell did you think I was the computer fairy godmother here to wave my freaking wand and VOILA! Your computer is fixed?!! Dumbass.

Those are the gems that you wish you had 2 buttons on your phone - one for "SLAP" (mildly annoying) and "TAZE" (very annoying).
