Annoying Person #1
A few days ago, a computer was being a pain. I decided to be nice and try to fix the computer, but it wouldn't recognize the Internet. That is well beyond my scope at work, so I told the supervisor to call the Help Desk to get it fixed.
Today, the person who normally uses the computer calls. "I can't log on to my computer!"
"Did you call the help desk?"
"Yeah, but I got some rude guy who hung up on me!"
"Did you call back?"
"No! I thought it should be fixed!"
Annoying Person #2
Someone was having problems with their computer and I was trying to narrow down what was wrong.
Me: "Are you connected to the internet?"
SC: "There's no internet connection! I can't do anything online!"
Me: "But you said that <security system that only runs if it can connect to the network> is running."
SC: "Yeah, it's running, but I can't do any internet stuff!"
The fun part was that it took 20 minutes to get her to admit that the security system was running.
Turns out she had locked herself out of Outlook and thought that since she couldn't get her email, she obviously wasn't online.
And that doesn't count the whole site that was so dumb today my boss started calling them buttplugs. Not to their face (he's not a cruel guy).
