Broomjockey is right. Plug a drive in, it appears if the Mac can read it.

If it doesn't, fire up Disk utility (Click Applications->Utilities->Disk Utility) and this will give a list of all attached disk devices on the left. If it's not listed there, then the Mac doesn't see it as a disk at all.

I do have internet access so here you go. If you open the finder window after you plug the drive in, it should so up. As far as the MP4 goes, just check online at the manufacturer to see if you can download the drivers. But as someone said Mac is pretty good about that kind of thing so chances are it will just work.

      So there is your answer/non-answer.

        Latest question.

It charges through the mini USB lead. Colleague left it plugged in at home when the power was all used. Would a Mac Mini be able to charge when turned off? I know Macs have some sort of low-power/hibernation mode, so would it be able to charge then?

Won't charge while sleeping. Wake it up! She (read: you) may have to check the settings to see how soon it goes to sleep after inactivity.

Blue Apple: System Preferences: Power save or something like that (I'm at work, and can't quite picture it in my head) The picture is a light bulb I think.

In there you can adjust the times for it to power down etc. Set it for an hour or two. Shouldn't take any longer than that to charge.

*Shhhhh* Not so loud. The Mac haters might hear you and come here ranting about Macs being no good because you can't play that many games on them I don't want to go down that road again.

              Just kidding folks.
