  • Wha'happen to my CD drive?

My CD/DVD drive in my laptop just stopped working. I put discs in and the drive doesn't even show up as having anything in it.

The little light on the side blinks for a little while and then goes out. It was working fine a few minutes ago, but Windows Media Player was freezing up and I had to keep closing it and retrying it.

My computer's a Dell Inspiron 1525, if that helps.

EDITED TO ADD: I restarted the computer and it seems to be working again.

I would hazard its possible for there to be a loose connection on the drive internally. Just a quick google search seems to show that some people have a similar issue and have had issues with the cd drive working in vista so its possible it might be an issue with the driver.

It could have just been a fluke too... aka without much more to go on I can only guess.

      Gremlins.

      Blame everything on the gremlins...
A PSA, if I may, as well as another.

Sad part is it's probably the thing that makes the most sense in this case.
