Trend Micro PC cillin

Okay, this is driving me batshit insane.

Short story is I'm trying to run ComboFix to catch some nasty malware.

I go to run it, and it tells me that PCCillin Internet Security is still running.

I have used Revo to uninstall this, I have gone through the registry and removed references to it, I have used Process Explorer to search for any DLL or Handle for "Trend" or "cillin". I have looked in MSConfig to verify nothing seems to be loading on startup for this. I have checked all services for the same.

Any clue what could going on here? I'm at my wits end with Trend Micro (even though I love using HijackThis )

It'll require temporary download of their removal tool, but with any luck, it won't turn in to "swallowed a spider to catch the fly"

Thanks man. I actually just found and started running the installer tool when you posted it.

This whole thing has become one of those "swallowed a spider" things because I started out trying to boot in safe mode, which bluescreened on me. So I found SafeBootKeyRepair and didn't realize it didn't work without ComboFix. Downloaded ComboFix and tried that..and well..you know the rest...

I hate these things that are supposed to be simple but keep snowballing..oh well..should be used to it being an IT lackey and all...

Edit: And huzzah..I think PCCTool actually worked.
