Does anyone know how to use the command prompt in Windows xp to reset a windows password?

You have to use the Net User command.

the syntax would be:

net user username newpassword

for example...

net user crashhelmet p@ssw0rd

You have to be logged in with admin right to get it to work though. otherwise, you get errors.
