  • Fax machine recommendations?

We are in the market for a new home fax machine, and was wondering if anybody could provide any advice as to what to get and/or what to stay away from. We don't necessarily need top of the line, but we don't want a piece of junk, either. We'll probably also be using it as a printer for the computer, and maybe even a scanner/copier, if anything decent exists. We already do have a Canon MP 160 printer/scanner/copier, so really, just the fax part is necessary; a combo would just be nice.

    So...any suggestions or warnings?

    Thanks in advance!

If you're just looking at faxes, Brother is a good brand, it's what we have at the uni.

You might also look into a good scanner and a fax-by-computer service. Set up right, you can do all the fax sending and recieving on your computer, and it will save you a fair chunk of cash as you can choose to print off on those faxes you want to.

Also, if you have a copier, check with the service provider. We had our provider add a card to a copier that lets us use it as a fax also.

I agree. I have a Brother IntelliFax 2820 that serves me very well.

My work seems to have really good experiences with Canon all-in-ones.

We've actually got a very inexpensive Canon AIO that we got on special from Frys. Only $35.

The wholesale clubs usually have very good deals on all-in-one printers. HP has done well for me.

DH decided on a Canon 860 all-in-one that even does duplex printing, from Fry's.

Thanks for all the input, though!
