Ok, so this is starting to drive me batty.

I have an MSI a6000 running windows 7 32 bit, and I've slowly been customizing the software to suit my needs. one such software is a bittorrent program called utorrent, for movies and videos since I don't like iTunes or the iTunes store.

Well, I got the program, installed it and it keeps crashing on me. No one in the forums over there knows how to help or what to do. One message keeps popping up when I open the program, and it is as follows:

"You appear to be running version 73.05 of the NVIDIA Network Access Management Tool. This version has known issues which may create problems with uTorrent. Please upgrade your NVIDIA software to at least version 73.12"

so, I went to see if I could update it, but have no idea where to start. the NVIDIA home page lists all sorts of versions, and none of them match mine. According to my computer, the only NVIDIA thing I have is nForce Network controller, whatever that is.

Can someone help me figure out what, exactly it is that I have and how to update it? Windows is no help, it's already determined I'm running the up to date thing, whatever it is. Help!

In regards to the name thing...this computer was a floor model at Frys, and even though I changed the computer name to Lupo, it still comes up as C:Users/Frys Electronics, and that's kind of pissing me off, just because I'm a little OCD and it belongs to ME now. I thought I'd changed it, but sometimes I'll see that, and other I'll see Lupo/Frys Electronics, depending on what I'm doing. I'm not tech savvy or computer smart when it comes to these kinds of things, and I know I'm overreacting, but it puts me near tears when I can't figure stuff out. Help help help!!

This post lists the steps to take to download the driver from NVidia.

I also recommend Azureus/Vuze for bittorrent
    http://azureus.sourceforge.net/

    Good luck.

With the user account deal, when you rename an account in Windows, instead of doing it *right*, it just changes the name on the login screen and in some of the UI elements. If you want to change the user directory, you should probably just back everything up, create a new user account, and delete the old one.

That's great, thanks! Only problem is I don't know what motherboard I have ,and according the site linked, I need to know that, so how do I figure that out? I can't pick the right driver without it apparently, and that's a problem I ran into when trying this in the first place.

And I've tried Vuze. Don't really like it. Too bulky, and makes everything run so slowly, and has, at times, frozen my poor little laptop, at least my old one. I liked it when it was just Azureus, but Vuze isn't very good, at least to me. Thank you for the suggestion, though!

...I don't know how to do that, either. I'm really not liking Windows 7, personally, and want to go back to XP...I know XP...

Start, control panel, user accounts , create or delete a user account.

          Just like XP.

But you were saying the MACHINE's name is incorrect at times? Hm. Well, that's easy to fix too.

Setup your God Mode Folder. Makes life easier IMO.
          To use it:

          1. Create a new folder.
          2. GodMode window
          3. Rename the folder to
          GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

(note that you can change the “GodMode” text, but the following period and code number are essential). AND SO IS THE SPACING.

Once you've created God Mode folder, go in and find System category. Rename computer is part way down the list.

God Mode makes it easier for me, in a lot of ways.

I love the little GodMode hack. Way quicker to go in there get something done if you know what you're looking for rather than digging through control panel menus.

I figured that this could not be too hard. Little Google-fu and Voila! MSI uses the MCP79 chipset... For which NVidia does not list a driver.

You may want to go to MSI support, http://www.msimobile.com/. Support requires you to setup an account, so I did not look.
