  • Laptop wireless adapter upgrade

I have an old Dell laptop, a Latitude D600 with Windows XP. It has a built-in wireless , "Intel(R) PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3A Mini PCI Adapter". The connection speed is pretty limited, so I want to upgrade using a Netgear WPN511 PC card wireless adapter.

I'm just wondering if I need to disable or remove the existing wireless adapter before installing the PC card adapter? Or can both remain installed without a conflict?

You should only need to disable the old one through device manager. You should be able to leave it physically in the system.

Thanks. I disabled the old, installed the new, and everything's working perfectly.
