It may be to the fact that until now the 360 had little to no use until I got Fable 3 and Bayonetta and played sporadically instead of rarely.
Well this morning went to play bayonetta, about 30 minutes into the game had to pause to tend to daughter. about 5-10 minutes come back hubs notices the tv went dark (still on) and the 360 was flashing the red ring. All but one section was red and it was flashing 3 times stop, flash 3 times stop etc. He went to turn it off and or see if he could get the disc out.
About 10-15 minutes later just to see if it was still going nuts while I was on the phone with a semi savy 360 friend hubs said it was back on and had successfully retrieved the disc and was loading. Just for my sanity I'm not touching it for the rest of this month.
Now is it truly dead? or did it over heat. This is the same system that is about 3 years and older, had already been serviced for the video card (right term) dying on us and xbox people sent him a new system and new face plate - we kept the memory card and they sent him instructions on how to retrieve his gamer id and warranty so if this one dies we should be ok i'm just trying to make sure it isn't in its dying throes or just needed to cool off
(probably a gamer's night mare seeing that red ring...)
