  • Happili Redirect

My work computer has a google redirect thing that goes to Happili.com. Our tech guy came by and said it was fixed, but obviously, not so.

I've seen some...really long and confusing fix its online that involve downloading something called ComboFix, but that's apparently a bit of a danger to the computer and information. Anyone know a simpler way to get rid of it? Spybot didn't work.

I've heard of some malware that actually reprograms your *router* to perform redirects like that.

Firefox or IE? Mac or PC? You may have to go into settings and change the proxy to "none", if there is one. Usually that's under "how this computer accesses the internet"

Try scanning the machine using malware bytes for infected objects then clear out any ie redirects using winsockfix.
Presuming ie/windows, though some companies don't look kindly on folks messing with their computers (I should know as a tech not actually allowed to fix anything - grr)

I was in that boat at the game store. Never mind that I was the the only certification-holder in the building and had years of helping family and friends under my belt, Owner had to know everything because the computers were in HIS store! (results were sometimes hilarious except when I was expected to fix what his "tech guy" screwed up)

This looks like a google redirect virus, and a pretty nasty one too. Here's one link I came up with. http://www.computing.net/answers/sec...rus/31072.html

Are you getting Internet Explorer Script errors popping up too, even if you aren't using IE?

              Start > Run > cmd > OK
              ipconfig /flushdns (enter)
              Reboot.
              Try again.

              Hope this helps!
