If you read my previous thread, I got a tablet for X-mas that was a POS.

Yesterday, I got a real nice deal on a cheap tablet. Took it home, opened the box, read the instructions, plugged it in to charge up, and...

It recognizes that there's a signal from the wireless router that I picked up for the first tablet, but as soon as it connects, it disconnects.

I'm thinking it might be something with the router (D-Link DIR-601), but how do I even begin to check?

Have you put in the correct security settings? Most wireless networks have a password (this is what WEP and WPA are all about), and if yours doesn't, it should.

It says (on the tablet) "Secured with WPA/WPA2 PSK".

When trying to connect, it says "Authenticating", then "Remembered, secured with...", then "Disabled, secured with...". When I try to connect again, it goes through the whole thing again.

This problem is typically caused by one of two things. Either you're using the wrong encryption type (tablet is using WPA and the router is configured for WEP) or you've typoed the password. I'd start with checking the configurations on both, side by side and at the same time if possible.

What model was it also, so those of us can either steer ourselves towards the tablet if it's a winner, and away from it if it's a loser.

It works! I reset the password and it works!
