It looks like there are 2 days to this "experiment". On day 1 they tell people that they don't sell whoppers anymore. The customers are a bit confused, and reminisce about their experiences with whoppers. The reason given to customers for getting rid of the whopper: "It was too popular!"
On day 2 they decide to screw with customers. I think day 2 is where all of the psycho customers come from. "GIVE ME MY WHOPPER NOW!!" For day 2 they decide to allow the customers to order whoppers with their meal, customer pays for whopper, is given a bag with their food in it. The customer sits down, opens bag and finds a big mac or a wendys burger. When the customer brings the food from other fast food places to the counter, the actor/employee treats them like they are trying to scam him. "We wouldn't have given you a wendys burger." Customer gets pissed off and wants what he ordered, finally they get the "BIG BOSS". The big boss is some wanker dressed up in a king outfit with a whopper on a tray. It ends with everyone happy and smiling.
Nice way to treat customers.

Quoth Rapscallion View PostYup. It's responsible for causing headaches in a number of people - occasionally referred to as Chinese Meal Headache (possibly an urban myth). I didn't know it was addictive, though.

Unfortunately as long as MSG is around, people aren't going to give up on fast food.

They were showing one of those commercials on the TV this evening. As I was listening, I told my husband, "I feel sorry for those people."
His response:
"Yeah, they really should get what they paid for."
I was all like:
And then I said, "No! I meant I feel sorry for those poor, abused employees." SHEESH!
Let me tell you ... Since those commercials started, I've lost all desire to eat at Burger King.

...but they're still selling their X-Box games, right? *huggles his "Sneak King" despite not even owning an X-Box*
Actually I'm starting to miss their BK Kids Club. Is that still around? I miss that..."IT stands away, interrupting himself from the incessant hammering of the kittens…"

yeah i saw this and was thinking how stupid a lot of these people where acting. Its not like they put some kind of secret sauce on it that makes a person addicted to the sandwich and they have to have it or die!!!!!
Ever hear of MSG?
And yeah given how the laws are I doubt any of the employees ddint figure their fifteen minutes of fame for beign on national TV wasnt worth a few minuntes of dealign with jerks. Its not like they dont do that anyhow in the course of a normal day...

Quoth ebonyknight View PostBoth are true. MSG fits the same receptors in the brain as valium. If you have ever seen Super Size Me, the guy eats nothing for 30 days but McDonalds. He started saying that inbetween meals he would start getting headaches and it wouldn't stop until he ate again.
Unfortunately as long as MSG is around, people aren't going to give up on fast food.
*stepping off soap box*Answers are easy...it is asking the right questions which is hard.

Quoth daleduke17 View PostThat was completely his own doing and fault. What did that video encourage? Personally I am tired of people showing this movie as gospel for the "don't eat fast food" agenda. People voluntarily eat fast food. Some just don't know how to limit it. Their own fault. Not mine or the restaurants.

Uh...okay..... I guess McDonalds ain't bad for you then. Thanks for clearing that up.

Since my husband & I have decided to avoid all restaurants/food joints that have a drive thru (i.e., Wendy's, Burger King, MacDonald's, Taco Bell, Chik-Fil-A, Krispy Kreme & Dunkin Donuts), I will no longer be able to participate in which food is better/tastes better discussions any longer.
However, if given the chance, I'd eat at Wendy's or Taco Bell before eating at MacDonald's or Burger King. As I said in one of my previous posts in this topic, the Whopper Freakout commercials have really made me not want to go to Burger King anymore.
