Quoth DarthRetard View PostRichS, before you get MOH: Airborne, I'd try Call of Duty 4.
And, believe me, COD 4 is on my list as well...I've played through the COD PC series, and I have the COD 4 demo ready to go.
Just 3 more days...

I wasn't aware that DS Lites were down to $100...that might be a good idea. It'll probably have to wait until after Christmas, but still. Still hammering away at Rogue Galaxy and I got Digital Devil Saga 2 via Amazon.I'm not going to play it yet as I've yet to finish the first, but I'll file it away in my collection (which I plan on posting a pic of tonight with my new bookshelf). I haven't picked back up PW3 yet...for two reasons, really...
1) Got SMASHED over the weekend on my wife's Christmas party, even though I was designated driver. Don't worry...I still drove home.(2 pitchers of hooch + 10 rounds of DDR = Sober?!)
2) Not really understanding exactly what I'm missing on Pearls' psychelock.
I also need to review a speedrun for Metroid Prime to see if there's a better strategy for beating Meta Ridley...MAN he's/she's/it's annoying. And yes, I'm looking forward to Smash Bros, though I didn't even play the last one or own the system for the new one.

Right now, I'm playing Mario Party DS. Oh yeah, I'm a wild woman.
My SO was horribly sick over the weekend and so I picked it up for her. The only game she can whomp my ass in is Mario Party, because I always get crappy dice rolls."You are loved" - Plaidman.

I used to love playing Mario Party 2 for the N64. Of course, this was for 2 reasons...
1) It was the only game my wife felt she had a shot at vs. me (mostly true, though sometimes she'll catch me off guard on Virtua Fighter 4).
2) In the pirate level, it looks as if Toad is screwing the boat.
I haven't played it in a while because the N64 is just about junk anymore.

Quoth Rahmota View PostHas anyone else seen/heard much about 4th edition D&D and if you have what do you think about it? I'm not too keen on it as they are taking the entire game in a direction I'm not happy with.

My ex-friend is probably going to be insanely pissed about 4th edition D&D. He's bought almost every extra book you could name. It's a couple thousand dollars worth of investment, and now he's (knowing him) going to get really pissed and either toss it all, or pretend 4th doesn't exist, and get really angry any time someone brings it up.
For my own personal feelings, I think that it was a huge gap between 2nd and 3rd edition. Probably too big, as the game started to stagnat a bit. 3rd edition is probably one of the best things to happen to the game since it was created.
4th is going to be the worst. It's too soon. 3rd was still going strong. Hell, Eberron isn't even that old yet. 3.5 was more than enough of a mod. Knowing how it works, almost nothing from 3/3.5 is going to work with 4th, meaning the community is going to be split between those who want something fresh, and those who want familiar. Blah blah, every other argument. Meh. I'll probably grab the players guide just to see what it's all about.

w00t! I toppled the prison AND the factory yesterday in Rogue Galaxy! Yes yes, I've done it before, but I started over because I had just gotten the strategy guide and was worried maybe I'd missed something. I found out I didn't, but this brings me to my next point...does anyone else enjoy starting games over? Maybe it's because I'm terrible at finishing what I start, but most of the time some of the coolest, most well thought out stuff occurs right in the beginning of a game.
In fact, often it's the attention getter beginning that I'm often so drawn to. I recall playing the FF7 demo over and over. I'm not saying it never gets old, nor am I saying that there isn't more game than that, but you gotta admit that it's FUN. Anyway, anyone else? Who else here likes starting a game over because...
1. You legimitately forgot something and it's going to drive you MAD because you can't go back for it/you might be able to go back for it, but only WAY later potentially AFTER you really need it.
2. The area you're at is "too hard" and maybe if you'd done a little more in the beginning, you'd be better off now somehow.
3. The "filler" of the game has kicked in and man is it boring.
4. Just for the hell of it.
Anyway, back to the point about Rogue Galaxy...now that I've done both of those areas, it's back to the factory. For those that may not be familiar with Level 5 games, here's what you need to know about all their games. It seems that each game has some sort of "development workshop." In fact...
- Dark Cloud 1 doesn't really have much take in this. Primarily it was rearranging towns to the villagers' needs and developing weapons.
- Dark Cloud 2 allows you to take pictures for ideas and then combine those ideas to make inventions. Further, it's a little more involved as to getting elements for houses, etc. to place AND it's centered around making things right in the future. And yes, you also get to do weapon development.
- Dragonquest 8 allows you to combine things in the alchemy pot to make new things. Sounds pretty basic (and it is) but there are SO many things you can make and it stores all combinations made. That and you get to develop certain character abilities by allocating skill points.
- Rogue Galaxy allows you to develop things at the factory after you have blueprints, develop your characters' abilities via revelations (kinda similar to FF12 but with items instead of points), develop better weapons through fusion and such, and much more.
- Jeanne d'Arc allows you to combine skills to make new skills. Seems simple, but much like the alchemy pot, it keeps track of everything and it's rather expansive.
Therefore, there's a WHOOOLE lot of development ahead for me! Goodie!

Ugh a 4th edition? Personally as a rpger I HATE D&D always have. Ever since the TSR days, I always found it so damn limiting. Even when WOTC took over it was too restrictive. I DO like most of the White Wolf Storyteller stuff, the good ole Middle Earth Role Playing System (MERPS, too bad it isn't still about). Call of Cthulu (Chaosium original NOT D20). The Classic Marvel Superhero roleplaying game Sengoku I'm sure there are others, but those are the ones for me.

To be honest I still have 1st edition....with a few extra sourcebooks from 2nd edition thrown in.
I love the 1st edition DM's Guide. It has rules for EVERYTHING regardless of how banal or insane it might be.
