  • So the doctor told me...

I have a growth that needs further investigation.

Due to a worrying issue that arose two weeks ago, I went to the doctor for an examination. The doctor referred me to a hospital. I had another examination the following day, at the hospital. Then I had to wait for an appointment with the head specialist.

And he told me about the growth. He took a biopsy. I have to have an MRI soon. They'll call me with the results.

Way to spend the holiday season.

Oh god. That is worrisome. But let them find it benign and easy to treat.

No. That is NOT the way to spend the holidays. Prayers that it is nothing serious.

I'm glad you're getting it checked out. I hope it turns out to be something easily treatable.

Not a bad prospect. I am not afraid. In the meantime, let me close my eyes and sense the beauty around me. And take that breath under the dark sky full of stars. Breathe in. Breathe out. That's all."

Yesterday's MRI went smoothly. It took about half an hour. The woman said I should hear the results in a week or so.

I just got a phone call. I'm going to the hospital Wednesday morning for a consultation. It seems I have an ovarian tumor, and the doctor is going to tell me how they plan to treat it.

Best wishes that it's not actually anything super serious. Sucks on the timing, though.
Yeah, that's what I've been thinking. The symptoms started in early November, and I've been going from doctor to doctor, then to ultrasound, then MRI, etc. I've really had enough, and according to what I heard today, I'm not done.

Fingers crossed everything goes well with the consultation.
Eh, one day I'll have something useful here. Until then, have a cookie or two.

I was feeling tired and dizzy today, so I went to the hospital. The doctor who examined me a few weeks ago told me me thinks I should check in and stay a few days. I'm at home now, because I didn't have anything with me like a change of clothing. Also, kitties need to be fed. He had the nurse take a blood sample, and someone will call me later with the results. He told me he wants the chemo to start as soon as possible. And the surgery is going to be a lot more complicated than I thought.

                          Six months of treatment.

Three rounds of chemo, then surgery, then three more rounds of chemo. Oh, and two CT scans.

What a fucking Christmas this is.

Yes, it is. Thank you so much for your invitation to join the exchange. Right now, though, sending Christmas cards is a bit much for me. I do appreciate the thought, however.
