    Moar kittehs!

Here are mine--Baxter and Sally. Baxter's favorite hiding place...is under the couch. Not exactly sure how a somewhat-large Maine Coon manages to squeeze under there, since there's only about 4 inches of clearance. He usually goes under there to get away from Sally Well, that and she usually throws "his" toys under there Speaking of toys, she's claimed most of the mice as "hers"

kitty! Kittykittykittykitty! *melts from cute cat overload*

Our eldest, Mitchell, likes to climb on top of the door. He'll climb up via the screen door though. It's the funniest thing to watch.

First is our new kitty Roxy.

She's only 14 weeks old now.

And our Shar Pei Cody, and Shiba Inu Sasha.

And for the record, yes that is my side of the bed, and I was hoping to go to sleep when that picture was taken.

This is Bruno. He's a mutt, but we know he has some lab and hound in him. This was last Christmas, when Mom was giving him his big stocking of toys. He's technically my dog, but he lives at home with Mom and Dad. He's got lots of energy and needs lots of exercise and attention; he's better off there.

Here's my Munchkin, looking all regal in repose.

This is a much earlier pic of her, at about 4 months old (she's about 2 years old now):

This is Miss Alex, who sadly passed away last November, after a long life of some 18 years. She was a tiny lady all her life, her max weight was 4 pounds.

And finally, Velcro. She also lived to about 18. I found her as a tiny kitten, somewhere between 4 and 8 weeks old. She'd been abandoned and she stole my heart within 5 minutes of finding her.

                  Loves climbing the screen door,
We have a pic of Stripes doing that. I'll have to ask my dad to send it to me; I looked and I don't seem to have it.

My kitties love chasing bugs. In fact, you'd never believe that Moofie (and her late sister Neka) had been raised by people since before their eyes were open, by the way they stalk and chase any small creature that gets inside.
When mine were tiny (a few months, maybe) I went past the bedroom and they were just inside the door. She looked like she was eating something and he was just sitting watching her. I lifted her chin to see what she had, and she looks up at me with cricket legs hanging out of her mouth. I scooped her up and brought her to the kitchen yelling "Put it down put it down!!!"

Another time they came running up from the basement into the living room, and she drops a cricket on the carpet. My dad grabbed a paper towel and took it away from them; they just looked at each other for a second, then turned as one and bolted back down the basement stairs.

The worst was when I was cat-sitting and she brought up a baby mouse. I saw she had something on the carpet, and at first I thought it was a hairball or something because it was the same color as her. I got closer and she grabbed it up and ran to the other side of the room. I caught her over there before she could grab it again and saw it was a tiny mouse. I thought it was dead, but then it rolled over on its back and started screeching...broke my heart. I scooped him onto a paper plate and brought him outside and laid him under a plant in the front yard. I went out and checked a little later and he had moved a few inches; I poked him gently with a stick and he let out a squeak. When I checked again later he was dead, so I covered him with a leaf. I'm sure it wasn't long before one of the stray cats in the neighborhood found him.

Aw! Baby does that. It scared the hell out of me the first time she did it.
I am so glad to learn that mine isn't the only one out there (besides the LOL cat) that does this! She started with the bathroom door because there's a mirror w/a frame made of molding she would use as a step up. Now it's straight to the top!

Daddy sent me the pic of Stripes on the door. That's the back door of my parents' house - I think there was a moth or something flying around under the porch light. And just for the heck of it, some more (Stars is the gray stripes and Stripes is the multi-stripes): attacking my brother's foot (7 weeks old, there); having a drink; and being knicknacks.

Tessa sees Stripes' screen door trick and raises him one - all screen, nothing but screen.

The one of her on the floor in the corner is her protesting me going to work one morning - she was blocking my way out the door!

Sorry, I can't get them to work as attachments.

(psst...Stripes is a boy. Also, no front claws, so nothing but screen would probably be difficult.)

Stars is a girl, though. She's a dainty little thing. He's all rough and tumble and let's jump on top of the furniture and try to escape out the front door. She's let's lounge on the bed all day and run from every little noise and sudden move, and you couldn't pay her to go outside.

Tomorrow my parents are getting my cousin's two Wheaten Terriers while they go up to New Hampshire for their daughter's college graduation. Poor Starsy. They had one of them for a week a few months ago and she didn't come out of the bedroom the whole week. They had to move the litter box upstairs and put it across the hall, and their food in the bedroom. Lately she's been bravely venturing out to the living more often, and now there's gonna be two big doggies in her kitchen (which she has to pass to get to the living room, and go through to get to the basement).

                            Oops, sorry Stripesie! Fixed now.
Tessa is going to miss some pointy pieces soon (please, no debate about that here - I have no choice in my apartment complex) and if any cat can figure out how to do it sans front claws, it will be her.

It's really funny when she does it and the door is only cracked open so she gets to the top and doesn't have the room to turn around to jump down head-first. She wedged herself between the screen and the door once.

Hehe. Stripes once got himself closed in the freezer. He was still little, and my parents had friends over for dinner. My mom had been putting some things away, and then they went outside to walk their friends out. I noticed Stripes was missing and went to look for him; didn't see him anywhere. Then I heard a thud coming from the corner of the kitchen. They used to get in the pantry cabinet when they were little (but they could get out because the door doesn't latch or anything). So I looked in there but he wasn't in there. Then I heard it again and realized it was coming from the freezer. I opened the door and he came tumbling out from the 3rd shelf up from the bottom.

Yesterday I went to dinner and shopping with my mom, and when I was leaving I saw a black and white kitty in the front yard. I wonder if it was Stripes's little friend that he showed up with when he got out awhile back.

Stripes and Tessa must be soul mates - her dearest wish is to get into my fridge! I've shut her in once or twice but I knew it and let her out after a moment. Didn't cure her of it, though.

I need to get a photo (probably next month when Mom and Sis are here for my bday) of Tessa being the shoulder-kitty.
