  • What's the deal with the Google logo today?

A wedge of The Laughing Cow (tm) Creamy Swiss cheese is just the right amount for six Triscuit (tm) crackers. A little salty, though.

    I want a hedgie cake.

    I want these, too.

My birthday is in three weeks. Get on it, peeps.

        Skirt? Shorts? Kilt? Dress? Skort?
Plain old skirt, I know, I'm boring. You forgot "capris" in your list. (It is IMPOSSIBLE to buy shorts long enough to wear to work these days, and it has been ever since I lost weight).

And I'm thinking that the Google logo has to be some sort of prank. I don't get it either.

On a side note, my house smells yummy because I'm making broth. For my OBC: my bra actually fits today. I'm sure Jackdaw is disappointed.

          Fixed it.

And, yeah, I don't think I'll be getting the cheese again. It's too salty. I go back to my Vermont cheddar for my Triscuits.

My boss has a set of those buckyballs (not the same brand but it's the same thing, and pretty much the same price, too; a coworker got them free from a vendor). They're kind of impossible to put down. I sent the link to my parents...they were asking me what I want for my birthday yesterday and I had nothing for 'em so maybe they'll take the hint. Buckyballs was celebrated by Google over the weekend for the 25th anniversary of their discovery. My uncle (by marriage; divorced from my aunt, never met the guy, died 5 years ago) was one of the 3 Nobel Prize winners in Chemistry (1996) for 'em.

                • GOOD LUCK WHISKEY!!!

hi everyone. I dealt with a phenomenal amount of stupidity today. Am consoling myself with a microwaved mug cake. It's chocolate. YUM. And if I happened to use creme de menthe in place of water, what of it? It's mint chocolate mug cake... >.>

                  • Mint chocolate is yummy.

Is this some kind of mix that is available in, say, New Jersey or some such place?

                      • microwave chocolate mug cake:

                        4 tbsp flour
                        4 tbsp sugar
                        2 tbsp cocoa powder
                        1 egg
                        splash of vanilla
                        3 tbsp milk (or booze)
                        3 tbsp oil

put dry ingredients in a coffee mug. Mix. Add egg, and liquid ingredients. Mix well. Add chocolate chips if you feel adventurous.

Microwave for 3 minutes (ish) on high. Instant, dense, chocolate cake.

And now, for extra danger factor, you now know a way to obtain chocolate cake in less than 5 minutes. Use this power wisely.

                          • Um...standard-ish size? I wanna say, 10 oz mug, maybe. Not big enough to hold an entire can of soda, but close. As long as the batter fills it no more than 2/3 full, you should be fine. I use different sizes and different mugs, depending.

Just want to make sure I don't end up with a chocolate volcano in my microwave. Wouldn't want to waste perfectly good chocolate.

Any recipes for non-chocolate flavors (my roommate is some kind of freak who doesn't like chocolate cake or chocolate ice cream. Why I live with her, I don't know*).

                              • Yep, I do. Basic yellow cake in a mug:

                                6 tbsp flour
                                4 tbsp sugar
                                1/8 tsp baking powder
                                3 tbsp water
                                3 tbsp oil
dash vanilla extract (or lemon. Or orange, etc)

Same instructions as last time. This is really good with whipped cream and berries, like a faux shortcake recipe.
