Is anybody else sick to death of the commercialization of this movie and wish it would just die in a fire or something?

I thought Twilight was bad, this is a million times worse. If it has Elsa or Anna on it, we have it. By the truckload. Toys, dolls, clothes, plastic dishes, even toddler beds and kid-size upholstered chairs.

And the sad thing is, of what we do sell, half of it will go to ebay vultures who sell it for ten times what they paid for it. Then I get to deal with crying kids and pissed-off parents all Christmas.

Yes. I'll just stop there, because I'm pretty sure the rant which would follow is not appropriate for this board. Not because of the commercialization (which is annoying on its own) but the move itself, and... things. Sorry.

I'm sick of looking at it. I will never see the movie.

I've seen the movie and loved it even though I had to purposely remind myself that it has nothing really to do with any Hans Christian Andersen tales.

I am grateful that I do not have any young kids or I'd be bombarded with all the tie-in stuff. Hell, even Avon is in on the damn Frozen stuff. And I see it in the stores in the mall I work in too...including the 'As Seen on TV' store. But I don't have to buy it, thankfully!

Disney got their first really, really big animated hit film in many years, especially one in the classic "princess genre" films.

They're going to push this for everything it's worth.

            No. Just let it go.

I tried to watch it a few months ago on On Demand. I was changing the channel not 10 minutes later, it was THAT boring.

Luckily working in a grocery store has its advantages and one of those is not to have to deal with the latest blockbuster releases and related merchandise.

Otherwise I'd have to make daily trips to the ABC store instead of monthly.

Well, considering we just went through Halloween, with every little girl in this town wanting to be Elsa, selling out of every bit of fabric in that color scheme, still seeing that merchandise all over the place...yep, I'm sick of it, and I haven't even seen the movie.

Just once I'd like to see a manufacturer "burn" the eBay vultures (back in University, there was a Michael Jackson concert in town. A month before the concert, scalpers were asking sky-high prices for tickets. The day of the concert, they were going for less than face value).

Well before release date, let it be known that quantities of the "gotta have it" toy were strictly limited (i.e. perfect bait for the vultures). Cue release date, and the vultures are all over it. Turns out that quantities ARE limited - to whatever will fit on the fleet of trucks due to arrive starting the next day.

I agree. I'm sick of seeing it everywhere, on everything. Tailors will forever associate that shade of blue with rage and frustration.

I didn't much care for the plot and it felt like the villain was too late revealed.

I saw the trailer for it and thought it looked cute. But never got to see it and probably never will. We have tons of Frozen shit and it's all over. I'm over it, tired of looking at it, tired of hearing about it. Doesn't look like it's going away any time soon though.
I would have a nice day, but I have other things to do.

I watched it via work. While I actually liked the story in itself (and the songs), I am also getting a little bit sick of the 10,000 items of merchandise.
We've had requests at work to buy the dress-ups from the movie. We've refused because they will get torn apart in 5 minutes, I am not kidding.
Although there's a store in the local mall that I walk past constantly...they once touted that they were selling "Anna" and "Elsa" dresses...only for the "dresses" to have the pictures of each character printed on the front.

No, you have the release date with the limited truckloads set for the week after Thanksgiving like normal. Then 1 week later more truckloads arrive ...

It's Disney, right? They knew they had a "hit" on their hands, and marketed the crap out of it.

And I'm afraid that Disney is going to ruin Star Wars, but look for them to market the crap out of that, too.

I like the YouTube video of US Marines Singing along with the songs.

I have yet to see the movie, but this makes me want to.

But I agree, the merchandising needs to be sent to the 'Atari Graveyard'. Seems fitting for over doing it.
