  • What kind of employee benefits do you get?

There might be a post like this already, but I couldn't find it.

So, what kind of benefits do you get, both official and unofficial.

    For me:

    OFFICIAL:

-- Free bowling on the days I work, and $1 games at all other times.
-- 40% discount on food from the Cafe.
    -- Free Soda.
-- 20% discount at the bar.

    UNOFFICIAL:

-- Free bowling at ANY time, whether I worked or not
-- Free food at the cafe if the cafe owner's son is working. (He hooks me up with food, and I hook him up with bowling, and pool.)
-- Crazy strong drinks at the bar... I got two crown and cokes today, and the bartender put at least 3 shots in each glass... not bad for $5 [plus a nice tip of course] )

    I get a gas allowance.

    Of 32$ a week.

When I put in over 65$ twice a week.

Just to get to work and no where else (Luckily the grocery store is between where I work and where I sleep so I don't have to make extra trips).

And one of my Life students told me gas was supposed to hit 4.50$ a gallon by this time next month.
Now a member of that alien race called Management.

Yeah, you see that right. Pink. Harness.

None that I can think of, officially.

Unofficially, occasionally a free lunch, depending on managerial mood. Free coffee if I come in before 7 am.

      "Quality control" samples.

        what benefits do I got...

        hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

        *breathes*

ok what was the question... oh yeah

        hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

        *breathes*

oh that was funny... you thought we got benefits...

ok on a serious note, I have a pathetic insurance program ($25 copay for doctors office, $50 copay for clinic visits, and $100 for er... and it would be quicker to tell you what medicines it does cover rather than the exclusions)

we do at least have PTO

oh and an employee discount at participating hotels (yes, you heard that right, not all hotels must participate in the employee rate program... and those that do rarely offer it).

            I get:
            • health insurance, which probably is kinda crappy and for which $69 is deducted from my check every pay period, but beats having to write a check for $300 for health insurance every 3 months.
            • dental insurance
            • vision insurance, which I used last year for an eye exam and new glasses so I didn't sign up for it this year
            • 401K
            • 114 (approximately) hours of paid vacation for the year and 40 hours of personal time (also paid)
            • life insurance

I was looking into being a flight attendant about a year or so ago. All the carriers I looked at had a hight requirement of 5"2'. At my last yearly exam I was 5' 1/4".
Do you know if there's any way around it??

As someone who has also looked into flight crew I believe the answer is unlikely, the height requirement is so you comfortably reach into the overhead bins without braining yourself with the supersize "it's carry on, honest" cases.
