Kitties XD I understand the whole vet thing. Thanks be to the grace of Leaf and Star that my vet is a no-nonsense place! I have yet to witness any SCs!

The white one is Yoda and he's a very large kitty... weighs about 20 lbs, but he's completely proportionate to himself... Zilla is the black one and he's an "average" cat at just over 8 lbs. An no, Yoda is not deaf... he hears quite well. But he does have tunnel vision.

Aw, you have yin/yang kitties! Love the chair pic. My monsters will curl up together on a chair but as soon as any human witnesses appear, they start to fight; I think they are trying to keep up appearances.

She basically told her child that he had the right to touch someone else's property, and that you had no right to stop it, yet you are the one that's sick? I agree with the post that said you did the vet a favor.

How can anyone think they have a right to someone's property?

And that's when her kid rips open the door to the carrier and sticks the tubing he's carrying in, whipping it from side to side as hard as he can.
I don't blame you for throwing his toy out the window, I might've done worse!

I've got a son, I know how rambunctious little boys can be. But there are some things you just don't do, and abusing animals is one of them. Mommie Dreariest really should've taught her Little Darling better than that.

Better, she should've taught him to ask permission to see an animal in its carrier rather than just going up and opening the carrier door on his own. You don't know how ill an animal at the vet's office is. If an animal is really ill, it might react very badly to people sticking their faces in its safety zone.

That's why I always told the vets...that Kitty *would* bite or scratch them. Even though he wasn't ill, he didn't like being in his carrier, nor did he like the vet's office. Hell, he scratched the hell out of me one time

Here's some recent pics (if you call 2 summers ago recent) of my kitties. Out of the several I had, there's only 4 left and they're all lazy and rotten.

The big white one is Rover, who weighs at least 2 tons and is nothing more than a love bug. The gray one, Stan, thinks he should be the only cat around (he doesn't get along at times with either Rover or Autumn Mohair - the longhaired yellow one who loves the birdbath.)

And the calico is Stan's sister, Wendyburger. She's the one who constantly runs in and out . . . in and out . . . she's like a yo-yo.

I love the picture of Autumn Mohair on the birdbath.

holy cow that woman is a crazy bitch without common sense.

i remember shocking some people when I was at my vet's in va... they only handle cats and do boarding. and if your cat is well behaved it gets to wander around inside the place.

the other customers looked shocked... when i came in, saw my cat and picked him up and started cuddling him... cos normal people just don't start handling the cats there.

they politely asked about his missing tail and I said... "the vets weren't sure if he's a manx or if it came off when he was younger."

                    them: oh that's your cat?
me: yes *cuddled my kitty & they relaxed*

Herbie, for the record, was spooked but fine. He demonstrated this by showing he's also part velociraptor as he launched himself off the vet assistant's chest with his hind claws for purchase as she picked him up.
While cats are inherently evil, I'm glad to hear he was okay. I've been the vet a few times to help my girlfriend with her animals and it's always an... interesting experience.

                      2. Are you perchance reading World War Z? Because that would make me VERY happy, it's one of my fav books.
World War Z is an great book. I just finished my third reading of it last month and enjoyed it just then as I did the first time around. Hopefully Brook's other works are just as good as this one!

Damn, I'd be pissed. I probably would have said something snarky to the "mother." For all she knew you could've had an animal with rabies--not the point but junior could have been bitten or anything could've happened. You're at the vet, something is not right with your animal (well, as far as the assumption since your cat was fine)

I understand those are not the points but I would NEVER let my future child go near strangers or ever touch someone else's stuff and got mad when they didn't indulge precious. That woman is an idiot and the vet is better off NOT having her in there. She's probably the wife of the guy who in that other thread on here has a dog that bites!

You are so awesome! Apparently that mother doesn't care if her kid gets scratched or bitten by a strange cat or not. I am so glad you taught him a lesson since the mother showed no inclination of doing so. I agree that it's better they didn't adopt a cat. Hopefully they won't get one somewhere else...
It is a terrible thing to see and have no vision.

I bet she does care: she'd probably sue the OP for emotional distress and mental anguish. And you know she'd have a shot at winning.
