I believe around Norwalk. She says it's pretty nice.
Not terribly far down the highway from me. About halfway to NYC.

It's pretty common here. Usually the light-running is just as it turns red. As I said in Utah, "Green means go, yellow means go faster, and red means the next four idiots in line go too." They seem to hold to that here, and I have been honked at for stopping with a yellow just as it turns red because there's no way I can safely get across the intersection before the red light. And OMG, that means I hold up Mr. Speed Demon behind me who just has to get to Dunkin' Donuts five seconds faster.

Haven't seen too many people running the red after the cross traffic has been going a while, though. That's something, at least.

That's very bizarre. She says she's still getting used to it!

I'm in Pennsylvania, and the only thing around here that bothers me is the lack of turn signals. I'm originally from the Pocono area, and moved down to the south east of the state. Now, whenever I drive back here from my mother's, I can tell I'm close when I keep getting cut off by people that don't know how to use their signals.

Oh, I would have LOVED to see that! Awesome manager, and cops. I hope she got a nice, fat ticket/

So where on the Island are you? I'm in CR. Beautiful here, but nutty drivers.
Lantzville (just outside Nanaimo) I see tons of crazy drivers out here too.

That's also against the law where I am, but people still talk or text on the phone while driving. I actually admire one nearby city because they actually have enforced that law, and given tickets to people.

I heard this from my son, my ex FIL ran into a parked fire truck while on the cell phone. That had to involve a lot of paperwork. *snerk*

It's been against the law in WA state since January 1, and they've stopped a grand total of 31 drivers

I don't remember exactly when it was made a law here. Talking on the phone while driving was illegal long before texting while driving, but now both are. In many areas they put it up on traffic advisory signs. "Buckle up, it's the law! Put down the cell phone! Be alert, arrive unhurt! Don't text and drive!"
It's little things that make the difference between 'enjoyable', 'tolerable', and 'gimme a spoon, I'm digging an escape tunnel'.
