    Congradulations!

Gotta be great to have a lot of work, and no assholes!

    SC
Well I'm sure there were still assholes. Just no memorable assholes that warrant new story threads.

Those spaces are reserved for orange 1969 Dodge Chargers.

It's a skill that's going to rapidly decline in utility, seeing as the Crown Vic ended production earlier this year.
I was talking to a state trooper from my area of Pennsylvania the other day at work. He told me they have like 75 or more brand new, never driven, no light bars, but had the State Police stickers on them sitting in a lot and garage as "backup".

Local police might run out of the CV but if that is what the state troopers use they may be around for a while.

Back on topic...the state police out of Washington (PA) has a couple of Mustangs. That wouldn't be so unusual, if they weren't older Fox-bodied versions. I have no idea what engines they use, but I have seen better cars in the scrapyards
        Hey! Washington PA here too!

To digress the thread again a little.

Years ago in Australia on the Sunshine Coast, the local cops had what looked like the worlds dinkiest VW.

Provided you weren't up close, it looked like it had rust all over it, cracks in the lights, dents in the doors . . . you know, all the stuff that makes a car look like the only thing still keeping it on the road is the courage of the driver. In reality, it had the best damn paint job I've ever seen, and the dents were artistic. Under the hood was a V6, god knows how they made it fit, or how they kept the car glued to the road when driving. I always suspected weights over the wheels.

That little car must have made a fortune for the cops during Schoolies week every year.

I remember someone in my home town dropping a small block V8 into a Pinto wagon.

I hate how Canadians come down here and expect to be ABOVE THE LAW just because they're IGNORANT of U.S. laws and expect everyone to cater to their every whim BASED off the fact that they know nothing of our laws. "Well, in Canada, it's not like this, eh?" Then go back to freaking Canada and continue to obey THEIR laws! Do some research on our laws before you choose to come down here! And if you want to whine "aboot" how you don't know how our laws are down here, I'm going to give your ass a boot myself!

DownForIt, do you have a couple examples of U.S. law that those particular Canadians were ignorant of? I know that in MOST cases, U.S. and Canadian law are similar (but probably not identical). Not surprising, since both are derivatives of British law, although with differing points of divergence.

Though it wasn't laws they were talking about, I had a similar experience with some Canadian customers in my bar once. Pretty sure I've told the story in here, but here's a quick refresher...

Two Canadian couples sitting at my bar. The guys were fine, the women would not stop yammering. "Well, in Toronto, we do it like this." Or..."In Canada, it's this way."

Finally after way too many of these, I leaned over the bar, got right into their fades, pointed out our huge picture windows at tropical Key West outside, and said, "Do you see that?" They nodded. "Does that look like Canada to you?!?"

                  Canadian women:

                  Canadian husbands:

                  Still A Customer."

It can't be that hard to figure out where you are. If I go too far west....I see Adrian Peterson jerseys and I want to puke.

I don't live in Washington...but I've spent quite a bit of time in and around there over the years. Routes 18 and 19 are great driver's roads

Unfortunately that level of ignorance crosses all boundaries: "Well, where I come from we don't do it that way!" I see two possible responses here: "Then go back where you came from" or "Look around. Does this look like [where you came from]? No? Then what does that tell you?"

A surprising number of people honestly believe that their local laws come with them. I mean, I've had that argument with people, though nowhere near the level that Jester has, that in this country you can't drink until you're 21 no matter WHERE you came from.

Oh no, they were certain it was okay to go buy a beer, they do it all the time "back home".

Well, this is a college town, and the cops and PLCB are REALLY REALLY big on enforcing that law, and on a football weekend? YEah, that's not the time to tempt them. Don't do it, you'll be sorry!

Oh no, they can do it back home just fine, so that means they can do it here too! Besides, even if I was right, what are the chances they'll get caught?

Yeah, one police citation and court summons later, they learned a valuable lesson

Well.... Not so much. They are just as ignorant here at home, just have different excuses for behaving badly.

It's a perennial problem- there is something like 2,000 UK citizens imprisoned abroad for committing various crimes, that usually the explanation is that they forgot to check the local laws before traveling.
