Shironu-Akaineko's thread - http://www.customerssuck.com/board/s...ad.php?t=19370 Reminded me of a story from my big Z days and I didn't want to thread jack.
This happened around when Pokemon version silver/gold was came out.
So we have the new pokemon games but a lot of the older ones to. Head office gets the bright idea to sell all the old ones at $10!! (remember they were still selling for $40-$50 then).
We knew it would be bad but even we, jaded as we were didn't expect what we got.
We had to open the doors 10 minutes early because the people outside were pressing forward so much 3 people were squished up against the glass. I'll never forget the looks on their faces. They truly believed they were going to die.
Once the doors were open it was a huge stampede for the back of the store where electronics was. People were physically shoving people off their feet into clothing racks so they could be first. The poor girl at electronics had all the games behind the counter and had been given strict instructions to only pass out one game per customer. I don't know how she dealt with it as I was at the front trying to get my till ready to go.
In the end we had:
16 twisted ankles
4 broken wrists
3 broken ankles
and 2 broken arms
The ambulance was outside for quite a while getting people taped up enough that they could get to the hospital on their own.
It was funny when people came in later in the day asking about those games. The response?
"We were sold out of those 5 min before the store opened."
