Those are great stories. Where exactly is this happening at, as in what city and state? In South Florida, areas of Palm Beach and Broward counties, this happens frequently.
This was in 19 stores in lower Michigan and 2 so far in central Texas.

The part that gets me is these kids will watch me to see if I'm looking at them and are shocked when I catch them at it.....uh duh...if you get water the CO2 doesn't kick on. So if 3 of you got water and I hear the CO2 kick on I know 1 or all of you are stealing drinks.

I could never do fast food again! I only did it for a year in high school and even that was too long! 8 and a half years, you must have patience of a saint!

At the crappy convenience store, we offer clear, water cups too. It specifically says, water on the cup! In AZ, convenience stores are not obligated to give water cups, but we do anyways. In a way, I feel I am doing someone a favor by giving them a water cup. I make them say please. Especially the kids. Sometimes, they would take soda. When I catch it, I make them poor it out and tell them to leave. If a kid asked permission first before getting soda, then I say they could have ONE cup. I don't drink soda and employees get free soda anyways, so it is like giving my soda that I could potentially drink.

I refused a water cup one time. The kid was probably 18 or 19 years old and he was being such a brat. He looked like he was preppy, my mommy and daddy are paying for my college kind of kid. He was arrogant with me the whole entire time and just down right rude.
He demanded for a water cup and I requested he said please. He demanded for the cup again and then he just left. I haven't seen him since. Better for both of us.

Wow, when I read the part about teenagers stealing drinks from Taco Bell, I thought the post was from my good friend Fyrehardt for a second.

You should check out her Fruit Punch Shower story. I'm sure you've wanted to do what she did at least once.

There's a McDonald's between my campus and our paintball team's home field. This McDonalds sees a lot of business from our team, and it always amuses us that there is the need for a sign over the drinks fountain that says (as accurately as I can remember):

FREE REFILLS ARE LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF YOUR VISIT. NO OUTSIDE CUPS.

Which means that they, at one time or at present, have had trouble with people bringing outside cups into their restaurant (perhaps even the same cup they bought earlier in the day, or days before) to get as much soda from the fountain as they wanted.

          Sad.
hey, us courtesy clerks do that at subway(at least we use a subway cup though)

          no carts=no traffic in wal-mart

no traffic in wal-mart=no traffic in subway

so the whatever its called theory says no carts=no traffic in subway, and as cheap as fountain drinks are they don't care

Patience of a saint? Well not quite...lol. I'm the one everyone calls up to deal with ALL the SC's cuz as they put it "Your the mean bitch that won't put up with their crap" Even my GM makes me deal with them on her shift...lol. I have been dealing with TB SC's for so long I can usually tell them off without getting myself or anyone else in trouble. I am the AGM and I almost ALWAYS back up my employees. Unless I know for a fact they were in the wrong.

As for the second part....My GM refused to give water cups to a couple teens that we know steal and they ran home and cried to mommy. She then called the store screaming at my GM about how she treated her "baby" and threatened to have her fired. I took the phone and explained to the lady that I had her "precious baby" on camera stealing drinks a few days earlier and she was more then welcome to come view the video. Yeah....that shut her up in a hurry. Funny, I haven't seen that little darling since.
