How silly of me...when you said there was a story about a car crash at work, I assumed it happened in the parking lot, something minor, etc....being that it's you, I should've known better.
Gee, thanks

I'm surprised she didn't blame you for her kid almost getting smashed. Actually I'm also surprised she didn't threaten YOU with a lawsuit. Even though we know she was in the wrong.
I'm sorry you get stuck with the crazies... Makes me glad I'm behind bars. In the cage, at work hehe
Me being the vindictive bastard that I am (Boy does my Mother ENJOY when I describe my self thusly..) I would get the info about the woman in question and report it to Child welfare. I understand fully, that it's not worth your effort Kusanagi.. but a Man's gotta have hobbies..
WTF is wrong with people? (besides the What truly depresses me about this is that not only will they not learn their lesson unless they do get in trouble with the law for the accident "pweshus" caused, if they do get away with it, mom basically just taught the brat that running away and not assuming responsibility for things that are your fault is a good thing to do.
I certainly hope that isn't the case! I'm hoping the kid had the shit scared out of him (figuratively or literally, or both), realizes he came within inches of death, and becomes a better person for it. Hey, it could happen...

She knows she's in the wrong, too, and any competent judge will find her very much in the wrong, to the tune of taking her kid away from her. Which is probably why she didn't sue the store or Kusanagi.
I didn't mean it in any way reflecting on you or your character....it's just....we around here have an idea about how, erm, crazy your luck with work seems to be, what with all the crazy that seems to flock there. I know I appreciate when you share the stories though.

Odd that with a small child banging it against a solid oak table, hard enough to cause dents, it didn't end up causing damage to the statue as well.
It's a wonder the kid was able to lift it.
Too tired of living and too tired to end it. What a conundrum.
The Buddha is a thick porcelain, weights about, gosh, 10 lbs?
The weight wasn't the issue, it was the sharp corners on the bottom of it. Buddha is round, but the base he sits on sure isn't
We did have a corner chip off of it actually. We still have in on display, with the base twisted around so the chipped corner isn't showing, but on one of the end tables surrounded by plants, as are ALL our accessories now.
Strangely, I haven't had many crazies the last two months, which has been thankful, due to everything else going on in my life. If I had those come out in full force, I don't know how I would have survived Maybe karma finally decided to only beat me up from one angle at once?
Looking back on it now, everyone involved was incredibly lucky. Like I said, I'm assuming the police and the other people involved worked it out as I haven't had a phone call or a visit from anyone involved since it happened.
