That is absolutely heartbreaking. An attitude like that has nothing to do with religious beliefs, because I'm yet to discover a religion which actively takes pleasure in the pain of others.

That saddens me - that there were two people who were willing to display the same level of ignorance and disrespect.

Hi MorsDeContactus and welcome to CS.

Every time I think customers have gotten as sucky as possible, they go ahead and lower the bar some more. Seriously that woman is just plain evil. And the GM is either just as totally evil or so completely spineless that if his DNA were tested, it would come back as jellyfish DNA.

Either way, they both are horrible people. I think that woman will be in for a big surprise when her life is over and its time to face up to judgment day. Her attitude is really no better than a terrorist's.

Like.....wow! I can't believe the gall SC's like that have, and then go complaining about someone being offended at remarks like that. This falls again under "the customer is always right" bullshit, in my opinion.

Now, this sums up the signs I see in establishments that say "We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone!" If that really goes on, then the person that refused that SC service because of their shitty attitude goes punished, and the SC gets rewarded with a free meal.

That's just not right. Way to go for standing up for yourself and your friend Evan.

That SC's comments about your friend were extremely disrespectful and uncalled for. Seems like the GM was nothing more than some spineless ignoramus for suspending you, despite witnesses and the fact that your boss and the other guy sided with you. I gotta give you props for walking out and sticking to your guns!

wow. just wow. props to you for having the cajones to just walk out like that. GM was a douche of epic proportions. would you go back if they started begging for you to come back?
Possibly, I did like my jobs, loved the regulars, but the GM would have to go and a pay raise too

At this point I'm wondering if the GM said that because he really believes it, or because he's been whipped into the "customer is always right" mindset and he's saying it to save face with the customer.

Who had the breakdown, GM or AM? Because it was totally suck if it was AM having the breakdown, but a beautiful show of karma if the GM did.
The GM did They still have no cafe' staff with 3 people at other stores training. So the cafe has been closed for a while. AM is fine

wow, good thing you left and eveyone quit. That GM was an ass. I'm all for people having the freedom of relegion, but when they say things like that then they deserve to be bitch slapped for the rest of their lives. One of our rights is the pursuit of happiness and people who say things like that destroy that right. I know exactly how you feel, I had a friend who was bipolar who took his life, and I swear to God if anyone tell's me anything remotely close to what you were told, I WILL go apeshit on their ass, because he was one of the coolest, kindest souls I've ever had the pleasure of knowing, and he couldn't control when he was up or down and no one blames him. Freaking pricks, I hope the GM learned a lesson to not let his relegion and beliefs affect his judgement, because in the end, it usually ends up twisting morals and screwing everything up. That's one of the reason's I don't follow any relegion, it's a man made thing and I'm pretty sure if God wanted us worshipping him and listening to a bunch of people who give up their choices in favor of blind faith, he'd tell us himself.

Wow, it just astonishes me how horrible some people can be. I'm sorry you had to go through such a terrible experience. I've not dealt with a suicide-related death before, so I can't imagine what that must be like for you to deal with it.

I can relate to the grief of a miscarriage, though. My wife became pregnant with twins a couple of months ago, and they would have been our first children. I posted about it in another section of the board. All I can say is that there are times when it's hard to be at work or anywhere else that is public. My coworkers and most of my regular customers know, and they've all been supportive and encouraging. It's still hard though when someone asks how we're doing. I can't imagine my reaction if someone had something negative to say about it.

she had just had a miss carriage, the baby had whats called turners syndrome, it was a late term miss carriage about 5 months along, she was devistated. she had taken some pics of her and the baby even though it did not survive. in her words she looked like a deflated balloon. since they had to induce labor they called it an abortion which bothered her, because the only reason she was going through it was that she would die if the pregnacy would have gone any longer.
I'm so sorry for your friend. What an ass!

BTW, the medical term for a miscarriage is a "spontaneous abortion." Abortion is such a highly-charged word, that I'm sure miscarriage has come into such common usage to make it clear that what happened was not at the choice of the parent.

OK, then...as long as they aren't trying to run the cafe with people who don't know what they are doing, I don't feel so bad for them...I could deal with people complaining about the cafe being closed, but if I made some caffeine-deprived SC's drink wrong? No thanks...

I have done register in the cafe at B&N and that is all I can do...2 years in Store2 and I was never cafe-trained (and liked it that way!) If I had to get you anything other than a soda or a plain cup of (already made) coffee, I'd be screwed.

Mors - please accept my condolences. As someone who as lost two friends (twin brothers, no less) to suicide, I can relate to your pain and am absolutely disgusted and appalled by that woman and your GM.

And I completely agree with the poster who pointed out that, as bad as the SC was, the GM was worse for endorsing this behavior by subscribing his own beliefs to her horrible-ness.

I couldn't agree more. I self harmed for years and only after getting help did I bare my arms in summer. A total bitch told me that I was going to hell for mutilating my body after she saw the scars. I just walked away from her, cuz I was scared of being arrested after I'd finished punching her lights out. Wish all the mean, evil minded people like her and bitch SC could get the beating of a lifetime for their spite.

These days, little surprises me when it comes to SCs, but a GM? Holy hell. I'd have had a discussion with some of the higher ups after that.

The GM said that the lady/cunt/bitch was "right" about "Hell" and people who go there? There isn't even any such thing! I hope and pray that a terrible thing happens to that GM.

Seriously? Sue the company for unlawful termination. You pretty much got fired because your closed-minded GM decided his beliefs are more important than treating others with respect.
