I don't know how people like that call themsevles parents.

Mom and dad gave me an allowance--which I worked for (i.e. I only got paid for chores I completed.) If they needed to borrow my cash because they were short, Mom'd ask and pay me back a month later.... though I could have cared less if she paid me back or not.

I've had friends whose parents have access to their bank accounts and just fuck them over. Case in point: my old room mate in college worked her ass off as a waitress for about four months, then got laid off. She had about 2k saved up in her account and had decided not to work the remaining two months of school and just use her savings.

Meanwhile, her olders sister takes R's car out for a joy ride (It had been left behind at home since San Francisco is not a place to have a car in) without telling R about it. Apperantly, Mommy and Daddy figured Sis could use R's car becuase R wasn't using it.

Sis screws it up--totalling the front end in a car accident. Mommy and Daddy go into R's bank account and wire the remaining 2k into their account to fix the car for R.... and meanwhile, the poor girl didn't have money for food or bills. I paid for her cell phone bill and groceries the last month we bunked together once I found out why she wasn't eating.

In high school I had I friend who had to hide the title and bill of sale to his car (that he payed for himself), because he knew his mom would sell it and pocket the money if given the chance.

My ex-boyfriends ex-wife is like this. Their son is 17 and I just did his taxes for him. I asked him if he wanted his tax refund direct deposited into his account and he said this:

"No, just have a real check sent to my dads house. If it goes into my account, or gets sent to my house, mom will find a way to get it."

Sadly, I wasn't at all surprised at his response, because I had been around to see some her money-stealing in action.

Now, I've made some mistakes as a parent, but stealing from your own kid?
