
Consarn it, it happened again today!
I was up at the service desk for some reason and the clerk asked me for a SKU on the exact same TV stand I described in the first post, which we do not carry. I told her we don't carry it.
The elderly couple at the service desk wanting the TV stand then began tut-tutting. "Why would they put this in the ad when the store doesn't carry it? You have all the other pieces from that collection!"
I told them "Corporate decides the items we will carry in furniture based on the size of the department. Ours isn't very big compared to other stores."
I offered to call other stores to have them set the TV stand aside for them if the other store carried it, but they refused.
99.5% of the time, we carry every item that is pictured in the ad. So why is it that during the .5% of the time an item is pictured that we don't carry, that item becomes the one everybody wants?
