for north americans thats like having your wedding rep at Boston Pizza or an Irish pub even....
Ok, Boston Pizza is meh, just another casual dining chain with decent but not spectacular food. Wouldn't hold a wedding reception there, but some might.

HOWEVER....There is an Irish pub in Halifax, though, that has fantastic food and better atmosphere that I would SO have my after-wedding nosh at (It's the only place I know of where you can get curried chicken and chips with mushy peas! And colcannon that doesn't taste like week-old boiled shoes! And really good corned beef and cabbage!). Besides, any restaurant that stocks over a hundred different beers and offers really good food that isn't all deep-fried is a place that must be patronized.

But then I'm not a formal, linen table cloth and crystal glasses and fine porcelain party kind of person. And neither are the people I associate with. (The Hubster's best friend has a habit of missing the table when he puts glasses or bottle down, so I have to account for such things)

"Well, well, well, yet more bad service at The Loaded Hog in Wellington. Will they ever learn? I somehow doubt it.
I had my wedding reception at The Loaded Hog at the end of March, and the service was terrible. In fact, we wrote a 4 page letter to them full of complaints, and have yet to hear back from them after 3 weeks. Very poor service still."
If the service is so poor, why do you keep going back you stupid whore!?!

I have a wedding I *don't* want to go to in a week (his family, I am being Supportive Wife).

I *wish* the reception would be at a bar (I detest teh bride, I loath the bride's father, the bride's mom is an EW, and GROOMZILLA!!!). OOh, hey, that's a thought- I could buy some cider (maybe pear) and by(m)ob. That might indeed be a plan....
