  • Cops called on ME!? Long...

Three things went down Sunday night.

    Around 6/7pm...

This young lady walks in. I start hearing something hitting the building. I start for the door thinking my co-worker needs help. The YL asks if Ill "tell him to leave". I get to the door and see CDs and a CD player smashed on the parking lot. Her boyfriend(?) was throwing them at the wall.

I told her he was destroying her stuff and asked if she wanted me to call the police. She said no and asked me to just have him leave. I turn back to the door and he is standing right outside the door telling her to come the f*ck on.

Well it ended up me telling him to clean the stuff up or I would call the police. She cleaned it with him repeating over and over to come the f*ck on. I told him to be a man and fight me and not a female thats smaller than him. He had this scared out of his body look and they got back into her car and still going back and forth about if he was going with her or not they left.

    Around 10pm...

Two guys walk in and one buys a pack of cigarettes. The second guy has an attitude and demands I break down a $20. Because of his attitude I tell him I can't. He keeps repeating that he knows I can do it. I keep saying I can't. His buddy and him are walking towards the door and he asks him whats wrong. He calls me an a$$hole and says he knows I have the change.

I tell him I do not. He says f*ck you.
(Now this would have had me tell him the same thing back but for the new year I promised myself and my boss I would try and cool it.)
    F*ck you.
(One a$$hole and 1 F*ck you.. temp rising...)
Hey did you hear me? I said F*CK YOU!
    (Temp overload....)
You know what, no FUCK YOU!!
He went off and his buddy gets him out the door after I had gone out and got his plate number. He is outside yelling I got something for you over and over while digging around the front of his SUV.

I keep telling him to bring it on. He calls me a faggit. I told him wait, I am not the one running around late at night with another GUY looking to make change for a $20. Now who is a fag?

He keeps repeating he has something for me... My co-worker is now keeping me inside and telling him to leave. I was never going outside, just telling him to bring it on. If anything went down I wanted it on the inside cameras.

They finally leave and I think about calling the police. I decide not to since I have their plate info and they have gone. Now also keeping me from calling is the fact that a co-worker and morning regular keep telling me I call the police to much.

Twenty minutes later here comes three cops in the door asking what happened. He has told him I threatened him with a gun. They make me and my co-work lift our coats and shirts and say he doesn't wish to press charges. He will be in to talk to my boss and the police will be back to watch the tape. They took his side because he called them and I didn't plus he is a coach of the local high school and they don't believe he would do what I said or even be carrying a gun. I took him yelling he had somethign for me and digging around under the seats and in the door that he was looking for a gun.

    Around 2am...

Young man about 18/19 comes in. Asks for a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. I tell him the total and he pulls out a bunch of balled up twentys. Each one was in a ball. He drops one and picks it up off the floor.

He unballs one and hands it to me. My mind is screaming FAKE! FAKE! as he is handing it to me. As soon as I have it in my hand I tell him its fake and he asks how I know. I grab the counterfit pen and sure enough it turns black and I hold it to the light and theres no water mark or strip.

I again tell him its fake and take the cigarettes and lighter from him. He says he just broke a fifty to get it. At two in the morning? Don't think so! He asks me if this one is also fake and hands me yet another twenty and it is also fake and has the same numbers as the other one. I now have two fakes. I say my co-workers name and he starts to walk to the door to block it. I pick up the phone and this guy charges my co-worker and they both go flying out the door and land hard on the ground. I say oh sh*t and put the phone down and run outside and the guy is getting up without his hoodie or headband.

My co-worker givves chase until I yell to let him go. We head back inside and I pick up his hoodie and headband and call the police. The cop said that since the guy had about 10/15 more fakes on him that the dectective may wish to view the tape. I told him thats fine and then told him that they would be the second ones to view it if they came in today and told him what happened earlier and he said some peoples kids and left shaking his head.

Now this coach, I am not sure how to go about it. Do I demand they charge him for a false report since I never once pulled a gun or told him I had one? This was all done infront of customers. Do I write the local paper and try and get a "Letters to the Editor" put in the paper about the local high schools coach making threats because I wouldn't break his twenty?

Go the legal route first, is my opinion. If the police still take his side for whatever reason, then is the time to go to a media outlet...petitioning a redress of grievance.

I agree with Hobbs, go the legal route. If nothing happens, hit the media. They love stories like that!

I'll agree with Hobbs also... give the chance for the police to nail the guy before trying him in the court of public opinion.

Some people might have an issue with this, but he called you a fag first. Nice of you to wing it right back in his face.

I really don't think you should have submitted to a search. The 4th and 5th amendments are your friends.

I was kind of waiting for your CW's boyfriend to back, throughout the stories. But he didn't.

Anyway, I agree. Take the legal route first before you bring the media into the situation. Who really knows how they will spin it?

"Violent Store Clerk attempts to Defame High School Coach." That wouldn't be good.

You know... this coach just screwed himself. As a teacher any charges pressed could cost him his job.
Press charges for filing a false report, he deserves it.

                    Want to destroy this coach?

Get a copy of the police report. Take the report and a copy of the tape showing his tantrum to you local televison station. Show the news department the tape and the police report. Let the "investigation team" at that station air the tape and the follow up "investigation" wherein the reporter confronts the coarch for details as to why the coach did that and then lied about the clerk pulling a gun. The reporter then will go to the school district with the question of why someone who lies and has this kind of a temper is in charge of students. The reporter then will interview parents asking how they feel about havign that kind of a coach at their school. Coach comes off looking like an unstable maniac.

His career takes a nose dive, yet all you did was show a pubic record and a recording of someone made in a public place.

Once the police see the tape, they will file the false report charge. You are not able to do that.

I think consensus is to follow the legal route first, though. And do that only if that fails...

                        +1

Being a teacher/coach myself, we don't need psychos in our ranks. The guy was either roid raging or just has a mental imbalance. Take it to him.
I will never go to school!

I'd go the legal route, aye.

Though on a side note, to be bluntly honest you handled that really unprofessionally. =/

Should never sink to an SC's level, imo.

Ahhhh, the good 'ol "Run To the Cops and Cry Victim" game. I know for a fact that if the cops won't nail his dumb ass for filing a false report you CAN SUE HIM in court for making false charges for damages because you now will have a disciplinary in your employee file that can hurt your chances of advancing in the company or obtaining future employment if you get fired. Don't take it lying down. If you can't afford a lawyer you can still go to small claims for about $100 without a lawyer and get him for up to $5,000.

Somebody makes a SWORN statement to the cops that you have a gun and you threatened someone with it is likely probable cause enough to be searched.
