While the guy was an idiot and took his complaints/demands way too far (especially in not accepting a replacement condo) I can't say his orginal complaint was wrong.

If I drove somewhere (or worse flew) to go on vacation to find the place I resereved was no longer available and someone hadn't contacted me, livid is an understatement to how I would feel.

Granted I would take another place if they had something, but I'd be expecting something cut off my bill, especially if the place wasn't the same caliber of place that I had reserved. If it's 4 star and I rented 4 stran then no problem.

Because I can't imagine the place left the program suddenly that morning to screw me out of my vacation, and the company not attempting to call and say "we have to move your reservation" and try to work it out before I got there... Yeah.

I didn't get the impression that was what had happened.

I had thought he had booked one place where he had stayed previously. That had left VRS's company and they'd offered him another place of the same standard. He'd agreed and then had got to the property and decided it wasn't as good, and therefore they'd cheated him.

Looking back it isn't actually clear.

If my scenario is the case then he may still have some valid complaint (but why he should get the whole holiday free, and why they couldn't just have the man removed by police with no refund when he started threatening people - which most of the hotel workers seem able to do, is another matter). The problem is that qualify is subjective, and that star ratings are going to have variation within each quality. Plus even if you aren't an EW like this guy you're probably going to notice the ways the new property isn't as good more than any ways it may be better, because afterall they liked the previous property enough to want to stay again.

Damned spineless manager!!!

I agree with the manager on this one, this is the same deal offered to begin with from VRS. The guy was owed a full refund if he couldn't find another vacation property he liked, but that is all he is due. His A$$Hattery behavior is completely off the chart.
