Awww, sorry they were such asshats. Don't let them get you down.

If I came through your line, I might have impulse control problems too, only more along the lines of, "Can I hug you please? OOPS sorry! (blush)"
Suckiness is reinforced up OR down at every transaction. Accepting BS makes them worse for all of us; firm fairness trains them to suck less.

God, some people are so fucking rude. Unbelievable - AND they try to pull that whole "customer is always right" bullshit when it comes to personally insulting employees.

You handled it quite well. Of course, what we WANT to do is say:

"Well, if you're going to ask questions about my weight, I'm going to start asking about your mom."

I think youi handled it well. Don't take it personally, from the context, there was probably something wrong with that guy. The other guy probably spent his day apologizing to people and keeping the asshole guy out of major trouble.

Don't consider it any more than you'd consider a very small child saying something innappropriate. It's not you.

Should have took it a step further and asked SC2 how big his schlong is.

Or directed him to where to find the tweezers and spray starch with the addition "Sir, it's OK that your schlong isn't like a porn star"
But what if he starts undoing his belt buckle and asks you to take a few steps back?

I don't think there would be a gentle enough way to break the news to him.

I get questions like this all the time now. Never did before I worked in a pharmacy. For some reason, it seems like because I work in a pharmacy all of my private information is fair game for the patients to be privy to. Um, NO.

That's assuming that he has one....

The asshat could quite possibly have nothing wrong with him other than he's an asshat. And his buddy probably figures (rightly) that if he doesn't stay buddies with him, he's going to get killed by someone someday.

Had some ass like this yesterday. There was nothing wrong with him other than he was being an ass and his buddy kept having to say, "Dude, stop it." Including his lame attempt to hit on me.

                  What an ass.

Since none of us were there, it might be hard to say what was wrong with the guy, if anything. I just say it's categorized under sucky, and I'm sorry the OP had to deal with it.

I've certainly had my days when I've been trying not to burst into tears in front of customers from mean comments I've endured.

I once, not at work luckily, had this girl come up to me and say "You're really fat." I replied, "And you're really ugly; guess what, I can lose weight." Had that been at work, I probably would have burst into tears of anger cuz I wouldn't be able to talk back to a customer. I personally think that as long as customers are polite, then staff should be polite back but if customers are rude or offensive then all bets are off.

I think it was a caregiver also, because the card was SC2's remember?

So SC2 probably was mentally ill. it doesnt hurt less but at least its not just complete assholisness. (is that even a word?)

I have only been asked if I was married and has um "bedroom issue with my wife" my a larger SC. I told hi to knock it off and them the SC asked other employees about me. Eventually the awesome MOD told him to stop or he would have leave. Never said anything dumb after that to me, though he did continue to harass a CW. When that CW was transferred to another store he inquired whew CW went, we told him the wing store and the GM e-mail the other stores to give him the wring store if he asked. I feel sorry for the "bait" store though.
