    Oh, yeah, the cops tried to tell the bosslady here that since the forged check wasn't actually cashed, that no crime had occurred.

    Just because a crime isn't successful doesn't mean that there was no crime.

    Oh, and the forger went to jail.

      Aye. Last I checked, just creating a forged document is a rime in and of itself, regardless of intent or actual usage. Then again, YMMV Your Laws May Vary
